Nigerian governors will never give suggestions that will lower their own enjoyment. Nonsense, mad people❗️❗️☹️☹️☹️ By the time you calculate payments to their SAs, SSA, household & security expenses etc, we'll see that government maintains each Governor with nothing less than N1bn a month. |

Spandau:It is against their constitutional right, retirement age is 60years. They should reduce their own allowances and increase salaries of workers in Nigeria. Criminal syndicates ruling Nigeria. |

Very shallow advice. Alternatively, I will provide them free service 1. Build refinery now 2. Stop destroying mushrooms refineries spread across Niger Delta, instead encourage and increase their capacity to serve local consumption for the region and certify them. 3. Henceforth, the law maker should be running part time to reduce their maintenance cost and should receive salary equivalent to Professors till when then economy will rebound. Strip them off their unholy allowances as a desperate measure to save our naira and economy. 4. Stop nepotism in appointment. 5. Create a conducive environment that will attract farmers back to farm and this involves solving national security head long. Is this not better than sacking us above 50yrs. |

I hope all obedients know that Governors are major stakeholders in the performance of a president. The same energy using for OBI should also reflect in selecting governors. Obi cannot perform as expected if he is not in the same page with governors. Or if the Governors are the same old crook, then don't expect change from the president. |

Vickho:There is absolutely nothing wrong in being 53. If you’re not up to 53, you will get there sooner or later. The retirement age in the Federal civil service is 60 years and it is the desire of all federal civil servants to serve their country diligently and retire at 60 years. Sending people home at 50 as being proposed will favour middle level officers like me but will cause a lot of disruption in the civil service. |

In addition, anyone above 40 should be barred from contesting for or holding any political position in the country and as a matter of urgency, make stealing of public funds an offense punishable by hanging with a trail duration of 2 months maximum. Una go force sense into the heads of Nigerian youths by yourselves. |

You said Tinubu of 83 years should be our president but you are telling us that 50yr intelligent citizens should be sent packing. Also when you are looking for job they will tell you that you must have a 20 years job experience and you must not exceed 25 years of age. This is wickedness. You are paying 38million to senators, ex governors are paid millions, this politicians did not see anything wrong with that their problems is those hungry civil servants that are collecting less than 70k. Hmmmm! Nigeria my country. Please we should beg USA or UK to come and colonize us for only one year or we should give these politicians Sri Lanka treatment. |

The governors themselves are above 50. Shouldn't they be talking about themselves? Meanwhile, as long as the work doesn't require physical activities like sports or security works, even a 60 years old can still continue his or her job as long as he or she's good and capable |

Realtalk20:Really? This is a good idea? Do you know of something called mentorship in the civil service? If you retire those experienced hands, then see the Nigerian economy sink further. Freaking cut the excesses of running government that's all. Bunch of hypocrists!!! |

| Re: Economic Crisis: Governors Advise FG To Pay Off Civil Servants Above 50 by ponishah: 9:04am On Aug 05, 2022 |
Realtalk20:Yes, politicians always making civil servants to take the fall. The civil servants are so stupidly fearful that the keep mute all the time. Civil servants should spill the beans, expose the politicians stealing our money. What politicians still from the government every month is the reason we are here. Hve you ever asked to know the salary of your governor that he will spend billions of naira to win an election? |
| Re: Economic Crisis: Governors Advise FG To Pay Off Civil Servants Above 50 by cornelman: 9:05am On Aug 05, 2022 |
HeavenVGate:With Due respect, You're the most stupid. Is retiring a 50 year old civil servant the way to redeem the country from collapse? What is the problem of an average Nigerian self? Is it that they are lack a just enough reasoning capacity? Do they need to be told that most politicians irrespective of their parties are the same set of thieves looting their destiny? During Goodluck's tenure, Governors uninamously agreed to devour excess oil revenue instead of saving it, now see where it landed us. The same governors are blaming Goodluck. Buhari went ahead to collect loans and all governors were in support. At the end, most of the loan was embezzled in the name of building infrastructure. Now the cost of servicing debt is more than revenue hence an impending economic collapse. Unemployment rate is over 33%. Again, Governors uninamously agreed that 50year old and above civil servants should be payed off. With which money? Borrowed money? So after you pay them off, where do they invest? In this unstable economy with terrible government policies? Do you know the number of companies that closed down in the last 5 years due to faulty economic policies? Do you know that naira is constantly falling against the dollar? Do you know the worst economy to invest is an unstable economy? If not, how many foreign investors are investing in the Nigerian economy? In fact, how many Nigerians are willing to invest here? Do you know that in Nigeria, Majority of 50 -60 year old still have children in school? Don't you know that in this kind of situation laying staff off will technically increase unemployment? From their analysis, 4.1trillion naira is being paid to 89000 staff annually which amounts to 46 million naira per civil servant on the average. How on earth can that be possible? Highest civil servant in Nigeria is not getting up to #30 million annually? How did they arrive at those figures? From past experience, don't you know that the excess money they want to gain from the technical retrenching will finally land in their pockets through a sharing formula tied to infrastructure development as they've always claimed? You better go and sit down and think about the future of the country and what it holds for you and your children before you jump up in supporting every government policies. |

LAGOS STATE. LAGOS STATE. LAGOS STATE. Lagos should also implement the updated Steve Oransanye's report. Lagos Civil Service is over bloated. Alausa Secretariat, Old Secretariat and hundreds of offices scattered all over Lagos. Some of the staff are very rich, very rich. 90% of the money that enter Lagos as revenue and allocation is consumed by Civil Service as recurrent expenditure and corruption. Most of the capital projects are funded indirectly with loans. Updated Stephen Oronsaye Report, suggested merger and shutdown of agencies and parastatals with duplicated or contested functions as a way to address bureaucratic inefficiency and reduce the cost of governance. Lagos needs the above report also. In Lagos, we have the Civil Service we also have the House of Assembly. There are some PAs to few members of House of Assembly members that are millionaires. Civil Service is now the most lucrative career job in Nigeria especially Federal Government, Lagos, Rivers, Kano, Delta, Akwa Ibom and few other States. The only difference between Lagos and other States is the very large size of the Lagos Civil Service. |
