Including MTN and Airtel.

The 3 major service providers go surely lose some or majority of their heavy subscribers before December 2022.

Data price is so expensive in Nigeria with there terrible network.
How do you know Starlink will be cheaper than MTN and Airtel?

cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy.

Nigerians are usually not smart, if they are smart, many people can come together to get it and pay for the subscription and share the data with wifi.

Y'all should read to understand..they said start-up kit not monthly price, they just reduced monthly fee in Europe to €50 and i expect Nigeria to be much cheaper monthly

not every Nigerian can pay $99 (btw the range of NGN64,000 - NGN64,400) for internet in a month, hope u knw?

most Nigerians will still choose to pay Airtel and co less than NGN5K (btw the range of $11 - $12) for a month for internet connection...

Starlink will be useful to few who can afford it. Airtel and co might be cheating us with expensive data but they are kind off offering to us what we can afford. While on the other hand, Starlink is providing to us what we deserve but not all of us will be able to afford it...

Hope u get my point
Nigerian institutions, banks, cooperate bodies will benefit if others don't have the money. Its a good thing

Swift offers super unlimited internet at 25k a month. Same with Smile and Spectranet. But una penchant for anything oyibo dey kill una.

Pray tell me, what do you intend to do with a speed of 100MBPs? Are you streaming data from heaven?

I do hope you know that at 99$ a month and you have like only 1000,000 subcribers... Thats 99 million dollars leaving that country monthly? Una wan die?
the problem being, swift and spectranet aren’t in every state yet.

MTN and the rest have nothing to worry about because many of us still wouldn't be able to afford Starlink. It's only 5% of us that will opt for Starlink.

This is why we should not remain one because of believes like yours. What you do in the north is a form of passive slavery. Which is possible by isolation, and lack of education. Clap for yourself.

You just described what is wrong

Dumbing people down purposely, making them useless, so they can be controlled

Splitmind:

You and I know that most Nigerians can not be trusted.

It is better for them to remain ignorant and isolated from the internet because they can use it to oppose the government.

That is why the North is still loyal to Nigeria but the South East and now South West wants to break away.

It must never happen Isha-Allah.

Patriotic Nigerians should oppose this starlink initiative. The government will no longer be able to sanction networks for not cooperating.

This is a threat to national unity and security.
Never mind. Many can't afford it.

Sir I beg to differ. Swift has high speed unlimited internet at 25k a month. I have used severally.

I have gotten speeds of up to 10mbps.

I ask again, what do we really need 4k or 8k movies for when we are not oyibo?

Are you aware that 1080 movies are super clear not to talk of 2160?

If you observe, all my talks is geared towards non wastage of funds which this star link is all about.

What they offer is already offered by Swift and MTN at a far cheaper rate. Thanks.

That's his preference of watching movies..... I love watching clear and crispy pictures...

I stream 4K YouTube contents on my TV and I love every bit of it

Swift is not available everywhere and MTN unlimited data is capped

I don't mind subscribing for 40k per month for fast unlimited data

None of the above offers true unlimited data and they're mostly slow and a waste of money.
Secondly, who told you these guys are even Nigerian companies?

$99 sounds like the setup equipment not the monthly sub. In developed countries it cost $599 to get same setup equipment while their monthly cost is $110. Our monthly subscription fee may be $50 or thereabouts.
that means the set up kit is standby. Immobile. Difficult to carry around with you. I thought it’d be like a sim oh? So $50 or more for what I’ll only use inside my house ? No

Unless I’m into tech related business then I can install it in my office and be using there.

Will keep using mtn for mobility.

cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy i need this starlinks, wow, people in Nigeria, don't know the value of unlimited data, they were trained to be myopic. Wow.

If you ask a foolish Nigerian, that was trained to be small minded and useless, they will say the usefulness is porn.

Very nice. The service is the most important thing not even the price. Nigerian internet service providers are giving us crap in internet service.
It depends on your location. For me it's just okay and I don't see any need to pay a higher subscription fee just because it's called Starlink.

Who can confirm the bolded?

Confirmation that US customers pay $599 .... but can't confirm Nigerian customers will pay $99. Starlink is not at all popular in the US .... wayyy too expensive .... indefinite wait to receive the starter kit and service ... and the service is unreliable. If it is unreliable in the US .. while trying to get in the race with the competition.... what kind service would it give in Nigeria? The FG really doesn't are about its citizens to allow this company to operate in Nigeria.

On the bright side perhaps more 5% of Nigerians will have access to worldwide information, be able to watch or download wide variety of media, be presented with challenging opinions. These people will no longer be easily fooled by foreigners taking advantage of their ignorance to rile them into feeling inferior and wanting to tear themselves apart because they have been made to dream of abroad as heaven and Nigeria as hell.
I just corrected you.

Anyway, we already have access to worldwide information so what's the fuss all about? At least we are not restricted like Chinese citizens.

Maybe we need to look at it from another perspective. Think about it, what Nasa could not do, a private company is doing it, Elon musk space X, if i am correct, is making it possible to do space travel, at a cheaper rate, and also may make it possible to visit other planets or eventually migrate to other planets.

But i doubt humans will go that far, because Jesus is coming back soon and because we are self destructive too.

You need to go back to school, this is honestly not an insult but an advice.

$99 is a set-up fee basically a one time fee.

By the way, what is the coverage for smile and the rest you mentioned? How many cities do they cover?

If this satellite service would cover more area what do you think?

Where I live neither of smile nor specranet is present, so if Starlink was to come here, I should avoid them because they're not Nigerian but wait for a Nigerian company that's not been able to reach here.

Omo sha, social media makes everyone feel like they have an opinion when they shouldn't.
