Two adults? Hmmm. Should I suggest three?

Mehn...I keep coming back to watch the pictures here. Very very impressive neat work.

Both of these pieces came from Dynasty Furnitures. A Chinese furniture manufacturing company in Lagos.

Solid wood was important to me instead of H/MDF.

Please sir how much did this lovely dining set cost?

Well done sir. I really admire your transparency all through. I have some questions please.
1. Did you use stamp concrete for your landscape? Yours compound is so nicely laid out..can you link me with the person who did this?
2. Can you share the CCTV brand you're using? I already have cables laid out but don't mind to start from scratch if I have to.
3. I know you're into solar but I no see panels all over your rooftop smiley I plan to go off-grid asap! What's your set-up boss?

Thank you sir.

Good morning, thanks for the complement.

1) I did not do stamped concrete just regular concrete and granite. I did the hardscaping design myself.

2) I use UniView products but HKIVISION is good too.

3) I haven’t started whole house solar project yet. However my entire perimeter is already solar powered.

It’s a long story Sir.

I reported him to his association and they weren’t able to compel him to deliver. Then I was forced to open a case at the police station which of course cost me money.

He had to write a letter of undertaking.

I’ll never do advance payment ever again in Nigeria.

Very sorry you had to go through this, I've been there before and in my case, could have been avoided especially if communication lines were open.

sometimes you are backed into between a wall and a hard surface and might have to advance a craftsman or a contractor etc..

Bros Egun has become full naija right down to outsourcing debt collection to police cheesy

It's a truly fked up nation we live in.

My sis is a doc in texas and she came visiting. She was admonishing me that everyone of us is too hard. Every time she wanted to give a person (driver etc) small dash for a service, one of the family would tell her don't bother, no need.

I was seriously struggling to explain the issue without looking like a dick, but I think your experience sums it up.

In spite of their possibly difficult conditions, you learn quickly that most artisans/maids/mechanics /marketwomen look at middle class /white collar guys as suckers to be exploited and cheated. And the more open you are, the more they take advantage.

How is it his union could not intervene? Even after I am sure you settled them as well?

Sorry about the delays

What of cost of data.
I have been thinking about this for all these cameras that you can view over the phone and co

How much data will this consume ineba daily or weekly basis

All the networks have a 1TB N100,000.00 plan (mobile).

All the networks also have unlimited data plans based on radio with defined speeds and SLAs from as low as 1mbps to STM-4 speeds (stationary).

And soon we shall have Starlink from Elon Musk, equipment costs $99, data prices yet unknown but we have heard it will come with unlimited data.

I wasn't around when they were installing my electrical panels. So I'm working on property situating them.

I installed a 32" X 36" board that it'll all be bolted upon but started with the crossover switch and water pump switch. NEPA box will join as well as the fuses. Later the Hybrid Controller and accompanying accessories will join too. I'll expand the board at some point.

I don't understand why they have to put everything sky-high.

I used to admonish my friends and family for being too hash also but now find myself saying oloriburuku constantly because of the treatment from 9ja artisans/tenants/others. I really need a break.

I would not advise a diasporan to come and stay in 9ja permanently one needs 2 homes so that you can continue to shuttle to get ones sanity back.

Something happened to this country after 1990.

I find myself slowing down a lot and not as gang-ho on things.

My fully furnished 2 bedroom BQ has been sitting idle since January. I don’t want the palava of a tenant in my private residence. You read of schemes to delay rent payment to landlord using legal tactics.

I’ll stay here but will always travel out on vacation twice a year to reset.

Advice to people thinking of coming home, please stay for 3 months on various occasions not the typical two weeks vacation in order to gauge the temperature.

I left straight after university so never really got to live in 9ja as a full grown hustling adult. I would see myself as a badass mama but 9ja tire me oh.

It's extremely important to build in the reset abroad but because of covid I have not been since 2019 so I feel the need to run somewhere.

You might want to consider airbnd. It's not adviceable to leave a single tenant when you travel out. Most tenants tell lies so if I want to go gangsta I ask for payslip, how long they have been in lagos etc with time you realise the advices agent give is legitimate. The most problematic often times are yahoo boys (they will tell you lies about their job), yoruba muslims(especially alfa), igbo who have been in lagos less than 10 years as most have anti yoruba sentiments. If they went to a pro unitate school they are less so.

If you live in lagos, Abuja, pH and I think Ibadan, you have access to the ISPs - swift, spectranet, smile, and Co. These give more gb per naira than the telcos

Most unlimited data plans always have k leg. My ISPs unlimited plan is limited to 300kb/s. Wetin I go carry am do?

Agreed that the likes of Swift, Spectranet, Smile exist.

I don't necessarily agree that they do.

I have used Smile so let me compare and contrast Smile with Glo.

Sample Smile Plans
Data Value 125GB, Validity 365 days, price 50,000.00
Data Value 200GB, Validity 365 days, price 70,000.00
Data Value 500GB, Validity 365 days, price 100,000.00
Data Value 1000GB, Validity 365 days, price 120,000.00

Equivalent Glo Plans
Data Value 138GB, Validity 30 days, price 20,000.00
Data Value 225GB, Validity 30 days, price 30,000.00
Data Value 525GB, Validity 120 days, price 60,000.00
Data Value 1024GB, Validity 365 days, price 100,000.00

What we usually do is buy the target plan, then buy smaller 30-day plans to extend/stack the validity to as long as we want. That way you will spend less than you would spend on Smile.

That said the unlimited data plans based on radio are truly unlimited, no data cap, the data caps apply to the data plans based on mobile numbers, but the advantage of the data plans based on mobile devices is that at least with glo, you can share the same plan with up to 5 numbers from the same network. Does Smile and go have something similar??

The other advantage of the reach of the MNOs, which the likes of Smile and co can only dream of.
I hope this helps.

I am also of the view that the cost of devices to access the network is higher than the MNOs.
Re: Casa Ava: The Finishing by FEGEITOK: 1:11pm On Aug 09, 2022
To use radio, the MNO must visit your site and do inspections and tests to confirm that they will have line of sight with their base, and you will sign a agreement for at least 3 months of service.

This is what embassies/hotels, etc use, so if you are a truly heavy data user in Nigeria, you have to use radio

i actually prefer to simply buy an oem router /modem so i can switch at will. no need to any router locked to a network
you will also note that i DELIBERATELY cited some locations where ISPS are based

also, your list is far from exhaustive in listing out plans.

most of the ISPs have a free night browsing tier - not all those 4gb free night browsing etal - UNLIMITED free night browsing

i am a heavy user, and i do not do netflix etal- i download my tv shows and movies from the high seas. i also update AAA games - which can slap you with 30gb updates.

that 1tb plan will die very quickly if you are downloading prey in 2160p

if you are a light user, no problem - you may enjoy the MNOP plans. but if you are a HEAVY user, you will run out of data frequently, especially now that most of us have our kids sharing data plans with us.

as an aside

Glo has no business being listed. their MEGA plans come with mega unreliability

the other day they actually called me to tell me of their new plans - and i told them why would i upgrade an already unreliable service. they started telling me that it was because my Sim was not 4G. then they had to backtrack.

Glo is so bizarre that on my ipad mini 2nd gen the network is limited to 3G. i actually thought this was an issue with the ipad - until i put in an MTN sim and lo and behold, my ipad had 4G.

i finally bought an airtel sim yesterday because of this.

within my home, glo nework fluctuates. it fluctuates outside the home as well. it is so bad that when i have important online meetings and (i am out of swift data)i immediately switch to MTN which costs more but is RELIABLE.

I respond thus: what I have chosen to do is to buy a router/modem per network excluding Etisalat because to a large extent it seems that Etisalat is a VMNO.

You said: also, your list is far from exhaustive in listing out plans.

I respond thus: I agree with you.

You said: most of the ISPs have a free night browsing tier - not all those 4gb free night browsing etal - UNLIMITED free night browsing

I respond thus: If you want SLAs and guaranteed speeds, you must do point-to-point radio.

You said: i am a heavy user, and i do not do netflix etal- i download my tv shows and movies from the high seas. i also update AAA games - which can slap you with 30gb updates.

I respond thus: I am a heavy user, my 1TB plan now has less than 100GB left, and I will now subscribe to another 1TB once it is out, I just want to know how long I can use it, so I can plan for my usage better. I subscribed to it on 1/1/2022. I have Airtel as my backup. I plan to add MTN as my backup of my backup soonest. I also often do 12 hour long Zoom meetings back to back (that is today and tomorrow) did that first week of August, will do another next week. Check out how much data Zoom videos consume per hour. That does not include at least 4 other 2 hour Zoom meetings every week guaranteed.

You said: that 1tb plan will die very quickly if you are downloading prey in 2160p

I respond thus: In respect of your paragraph 5, I do a lot of Netflix, sometimes me, sometimes my guests, I am also heavily into YouTube for educational purposes. I have grown too busy for games, but I relax by watching movies.

You said: if you are a light user, no problem - you may enjoy the MNOP plans. but if you are a HEAVY user, you will run out of data frequently, especially now that most of us have our kids sharing data plans with us.

I respond thus The problem with everyone in Nigeria doing unlimited data plans is that they throttle the data. Read the fine print.

You said: Glo has no business being listed. their MEGA plans come with mega unreliability

I respond thus Glo can sometimes be unreliable agreed, but at some point, Airtel was unable to stream Zoom videos at all, I don't know why. I had this experience and so did my friends, but Glo did. Last two Sundays, Glo couldn't download a 1GB file, but Airtel did in 10 minutes. I think unreliability is common to all the networks at different times. When I used to travel the whole country, the network that was literally everywhere was Glo.

I remember when I was at Bwari and noticed poor network connectivity, I informed Glo and they came and upgraded the equipment so much so that when I visited Bwari again, I had 4G reception and better speeds, maybe you should make a case for your area.

I don't use Smile that much these days but I will agree that they did provide a more reliable connection than Glo when I did.

You said: Glo has no business being listed. their MEGA plans come with mega unreliability
...the other day they actually called me to tell me of their new plans - and i told them why would i upgrade an already unreliable service. they started telling me that it was because my Sim was not 4G. then they had to backtrack...
Glo is so bizarre that on my ipad mini 2nd gen the network is limited to 3G. i actually thought this was an issue with the ipad - until i put in an MTN sim and lo and behold, my ipad had 4G....i finally bought an airtel sim yesterday because of this....within my home, glo nework fluctuates. it fluctuates outside the home as well. it is so bad that when i have important online meetings and (i am out of swift data)i immediately switch to MTN which costs more but is RELIABLE.

I don't use Smile that much these days but I will agree that they did provide a more reliable connection than Glo when I did.

so this is the thing - and this is why i said you may nit have EXHAUSTIVELY reviewed the ISPs plans. swift has unlimited plans, and unlimited night browsing plans

by that i mean - the unlimited night browsing plan is a capped plan in which your night browsing is not measured. it is different from the unlimited lans - i know this because i have tried them in the past, and the max speed i got was 300kb/s.

so if i am using a swift free night browsing plan - from 11pm to 8 am my downloads are measured as part oif my subscription, and the speed is not throttled. this is actually why i switched back to swift. i started with swift years ago, moved to spectranet which is cheaper, but spectranets free night browsimng plan was DELIBERATELY difficult - it was between 1 am and 7am. this meant that even with setting up dopwnloads etal al, i would usually have to wake up at one am to be absolutely sure my downloads were running. then , out of the blue they starterd throttling - and that was when i went back to swift

I respond thus: what I have chosen to do is to buy a router/modem per network excluding Etisalat because to a large extent it seems that Etisalat is a VMNO.

the other reason why i opted for an oem router is because most of these huawei and zte routers, in addition to being locked to a network, have poor management features. i wanted a device that would let me block some websites from source, track exactly who is abusing the netwrok in the house , maybe even impose limits on users. these MNO routers, the last time i checked are limited on these features.

I plan to add MTN as my backup of my backup soonest. zoom, teams, google meeet all have ow bandwith settings under preferences. you can set your video to SD rather than HD.

if you really want to know EXACTLY where your data is going, install glasswire. you will immediately see which apps are eating data and you can regulate them accordingly. you cam also install on every pc in the house. in addition to this, you can track users internet usuage on a lae model TP link router. i will however advise that if you plan on buying a tplink, buy from abroad or from a fairly reliable seller. i keep hearing there is nothing under the sun in nigeria with regards to dodgy/refurb/firmware modified items.

glo is fairly reliable as a telco, but as an ISP . . .

the issues are nmot limited to my home, they are literrally everywhere. it is so bad that as i said, if for instance i am going to kano, i immediately switch to MTN for data. Glo is really weird because it just has multiple dead spots. there is a hospital in my area. once you go to a point in the hospital, glo simply stops, but MTN works fine. and the start stop of glo is really really terrible.
