I set my profile to 100% immediately. Then I played around with proposals. The proposal is your cover letter and what you send to bid for jobs. I didn’t know a lot and looking back, I submitted to many unverified payment jobs and wrote very bland proposals, but overall, I identified some key issues.thank u,u have said it all.Nigerians hate to research. they prefer copy and paste.that is y we have a lot of scammers everywhere depending on a format.

Reason being that it started as a diary, I believe.
You could overlook what you call nonsense, and look deeper into the benefits.

I had fiverr and upwork account it never saw the light of d day, after I paid someone for a verified account, I've always been fascinated by the idea of remote work, tbh maybe I didn't look more into it, I was disappointed that over few months I never got an gig even if it paid $1 I would av been happy I'm working anyways, money wasn't really my priority then, but I was going to fight in a war zone with a bread knife

PS i don't know why d likes, "I was going to fight in a war zone with a bread knife" doesn't connote to being successful it is d direct opposite, pls don't misunderstand me, I meant that I was going to a war zone (Fiverr with many skilled workers , people with years of experience) with a bread knife(Unskilled, naive, worker, no experience whatsoever in any niche or gig, except maybe copywriting or freelance) But @Pocohantas I'm quite fluent at freelance now after working with inourmindshow based in london as a writer

Nice one Poco, and very detailed too. Would have loved to make some earnings from this but sadly, I'm currently running a doctorate program and that takes virtually all my time.

Quite inspiring read, thanks for posting.
I'll be adding this to my read list, I still have to go through it again.
On applying for upwork gigs, I think qtguru has tried his best to educate us here about the numbers of available opportunities there, for that reason I've created an account on upwork.

Many people are scared. I know people that would open the app and be so afraid to send proposals. I went through that stage too.
Me at the moment, but I'm sure I'll get over it once I'm confident with my skills.
Thanks for sharing your story.

It won't happen. It's not easy to break into mentally demanding industries.
