That no 13 that assisted na better midfielder. Killer pass there. Just that her aerial ability is poor.

Great game Nigeria

Demehin and Sebastian my best players tonight.

Whoever told these girls to launch long balls initially should be flogged. We played better when we kept the ball on the ground.

Our goalkeeper and Alani biggest liability in my opinion.

They need to practice throw-ins before the next game. Today was just ridiculous.

In all, great game

Congratulations Nigeria

Mercy Idoko (#13) is no midfielder. She is a forward. Played up top all game and always drifted right when need be.

But yes, her pass to Flourish was everything. Once Flourish got the ball in an onside position, I knew it was a goal already. That's the best finisher in African women's football at this level. Even the FIFA+ Commentators admitted such. Lovely game. The girls are ball jugglers. They keep the ball so effortlessly.

Demehin has some prime Ebi style. She has saved the entire defence line in all positions including hers. From Lb to cb to rb. I wish her passing on ground will be much more better. No cause for alarm. Growth is imminent.

Yes! We did it.
At least my effort to stay awake and my data didn't go to waste.
...Sebastien scored the goal but Onyenezide is a baller. Kinda like her close control but her final pass need to be polished.
...Kudos to the goalkeeper. I like her confidence.
...Alani was just there, couldn't attack... couldn't defend. On the other hand, Imran was impressive.
...Tosin Demehin still has a long way to go.

Lest I forget, a big shout-out to the France coach for volunteering to be our ball boy (abi na ball girl) grin grin

That keeper though, she's jittery at times, giving Okoye vibes.

When the pitch is waterlogged, you don't play short passes.

Ramat Imuran… LB
Rosin Demehin… CB
Deborah Abeodun… B2B
Esther Onyenezide… AM
Flourishe Sabastine… LW

Joy Jerry, Mercy Idoko, Blessing Okpe, Chinyere Kalu can also be a major surprise to us..!

You can also take a look at Monle Omini, who I see as a low budget Alaba Jonathan

This 5 listed players above didn't disappoint at all, they all lived up to expectations and few others also stepped in... Kudos to them

Aswear. If not, naso we go sweat kon lose to team that can't even break us down. This set is far from the intensity of Oshoala set. It's u20, but feels like u17. Nice one there, Var.

The performance was solid and win deserved. However, I don't we are yet a final contender based on this game. Sabastine seems to be our only threat upfront. We almost lost the game. The team is not bad, but nothing close to the Oshoala times yet. Emphasis on yet. This is just the first game and things like this can happen. Good performance btw.

The keeper finds it hard to grip the ball well, always spilling it first time before holding.

Dunno which one she seems better at in cm or AM. She is calculated and vision is top. She's calm again. Big midfield potential
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 2:59am On Aug 12, 2022
Her passing on ground is quite good.
Issue is: you can't pass the ball effectively on a waterlogged pitch, especially out of defence.

Esther Onyenezide was beautiful to watch. Her ball retention, body feints (the way she drops her shoulders when fooling an opponent with a dribble), ball distribution all lovely. Her two-footedness and technique plus her workrate came to bear today.

Her combo with the equally hardworking Deborah Abiodun #4 gave us fine steel and ball retention in the middle.
