Look, it's actually about economic superiority and USA will always back Taiwan coz if they loose out to China, their world power status is gone...Taiwan makes 65% of the world's semiconductors and almost 90% of the advanced chips. Taiwan produces half the world's processor chips and has technology the mainland China can't match.

America will support Taiwan as long as it has this dependence on Taiwan's semiconductors. The day when America will be autonomous, and this day will come when we see the huge investments made on American soil these last months in this sector, then Taiwan will not be so strategic for America.

That's when China will probably have a free hand to annex Taiwan. If Xi Jinping can be patient, there is a good chance that he can fully reunify his country without even having to go to war with America.
