My dear, you can use your Ghana must-go bag. I traveled recently to Calgary and I even used 2 ghana must-go bags. My foodstuff and other things were intact. Once you check in your luggage in Nigeria, the next time you will see your bags is your final destination.

It could be got from FRSC office, same place as your driver license. There is also an online portal: http://www.ndlverification.frsc.gov.ng/

However, I do not know if the online portal can be relied upon.

Don't bother using that online portal, you'll just pay and your money will enter voicemail... I tried using it, I paid and since like 4 weeks now, I never hear "pim". Not even confirmation of order processing.

Just driving extract. Did mine for 30k in Naija. If you message sule, he'll only waste your time and won't attend to you.

That Sule deserves his name, Sule indeed. He wasted my whole time in Nigeria. Had to look for someone else now that I need it by all means.

Good day, all.

I would like to confirm the immigration process at the airport with those that enter Canada with SOWP. Will they issue me an Open work permit at the airport?

Secondly, do I need to buy a one-way ticket when coming to Canada?

Please help.

Thank you.

Mehn, everything Naija is just hard work. Considering the number of people travelling on a daily basis, this could have been another source of revenue for the Government if they could just make the online application work instead of paying money to one rogue officer that will not do anything. I paid one officer 15k over 6 weeks ago and I'm yet to get the extract.

thats child trafficking. The day it comes to light you get jailed , after that lose your status end up back in Nigeria . Children can say things without knowing the consequences. Things like you are not my real mother, or your own kids telling someone she is not your child. Adopt her by contacting a lawyer then file for her.

Please I want to ask, can guardianship also work in place of adoption? Especially if the child's parents are alive.

If the idea of people carrying food is a problem to you , delete your account and face your road. Allow people to go their way . And stop commenting .

Btw Indians and Chinese carry food when they come so keep quiet and face your Canada where u spend 50 cad for two weeks . Let people go their own Canada with their own food .

CountVersailles:

Food is about some of the cheapest things you can buy in Canada. I know that because I've lived in many cities. Even if you don't work and are living on your POF, you don't need more than $50 to shop for food for the week and you can make enough food to last two weeks. The problem with our Nigerian brothers and sisters is that when they want to eat Indomie, they want to eat indomie from Nigeria which is available at exorbitant prices at African store. Sometimes its price is more than 5x the regular indomie you can buy at walmart. How that is any special than that regular indomie, I don't know. Same thing with chicken. Chicken o! They want to eat the chicken from African store. When will they learn that it is not sustainable to continue to subsist on the kind of food you were eating in Nigeria? If you are in Rome, you behave like the Romans.
So, why won't their money finish quickly?

The brighter point is that many of them eventually pivot to Canadian brands, but not after wasting away their money on Nigerian indomie. It typically takes them about 6-8 months or so before they start seeing it is unsustainable to be craving Nigerian indomie. For some, it takes years. Years of wasting away hard-earned dollars. And when they finally move to way cheaper chinese indomie, they see there is not even that much difference. You can replace indomie with whatever you want. But why does it have to take that late to figure things out and spend more wisely in a new environment? There is a reason the whole Canada is not shopping at African store.

let's not excuse ma.d behaviour. Survival is often dependent on how you adjust fast. Thinking you are still privileged and wanting to live the Nigerian life when you are in Canada is one of the worst things that can happen to you. There is no reason that should be encouraged.

I'd suggest you to look more into Express Entry, the entire procedure is well detailed on this forum so no need to pay an agent.

they are a licensed immigration company. They are not allowed to help you arrange job offer. All they will do is to rewrite your cv and send you links to apply. Your 1500 will just enter voice mail. You can find softwares to review your cv na.

I'm conflicted as a parent cos I know how difficult it is to leave one's child, biological or not. I've heard some people have gotten away with including that child in their application as their biological child, however, it is a serious offense if the Canadian government finds out. Two things can lead to them finding out; they could request a DNA test if they smell something fishy (e.g age disparity between that child and your other children, age of that child vis-a-vis you and your partner's age etc). Secondly, the child's biological parents (or even anyone who knows about the plan) may contact IRCC and they (IRCC) will launch an investigation.

The safer option will be to legally adopt that child in Nigeria before coming. The problem with that though is that the court will usually not grant you full guardianship/custody if the child's biological parents are alive, even if the biological parents agree to that arrangement. This will make it impossible to add her to your application as IRCC will require that you have full guardianship/custody.

If you know your way around Nigerian legal system and can somehow get a judge that can grant you full guardianship, that will be your best bet.
