Biggest emerging market? That was in the days of MalaysiaIndonesiaNigeriaThailand (MINT) Nigeria is no longer considered in this league. Okay, in your opinion what makes Nigeria one of the biggest emerging markets? Patriotsleague: |

Zeekaycn:And the few that decides to invest in Nigeria by setting up businesses that can employ citizens, most still end up losing their investments to bad staff and scammers who end up spending the loot on items that export jobs abroad. Brown people have mental issues (majority). |

1stGenAmerican:I disagree with the idea that you are nobody without debt. At least here Nigeria, people have proven that without debt they can become somebody. In regards to the notion that paying mortage is actually cheaper than rent, that is not always true. The reality is that renting is cheaper because it doesn't come with the responsibility of owning a house. With ownership, comes maintaince, mortgage and some taxes which you have to pay, in the long it owning a house atleast in the developed world is more expensive. |

I have come to discover that abroad is not for everyone and those in the abroad shouldn’t see the ones at home as lazy so also Nigerians at home shouldn’t see those selling everything to japa as stupid. If you believe you can succeed in Nigeria then do not let anyone force you to japa otherwise you will be frustrated, and if you have an adventure spirit and love to travel abroad then do it without being discouraged. I made a mistake about 10 years when my cousins were interested in me traveling to the USA but I allowed preaching from Oyedepo to discourage me. I thought then that I can make it in naija and also help to fix the country. 10 years later I keep getting frustrated. Now my cousins in the USA don’t even want me to mention japa to them again cos when they were ready I wasn’t. Naija, a country where employers make you feel they’re doing you a favor by paying you your salary, a country where employees are made to do jobs meant for 5 people and still earn less, a country where graduates of 5 years ago are still looking for jobs that will make them stand, a country where youths have become slaves to politicians, a country where you are expected to roll on the floor before people will help you, a country where lecturers behave like gods cos they decide who pass or fail, a country where a military recruit with just WAEC will disrespect their father’s age mate simply cos he/she is holding a gun, a country of lies, deceits, envy, jealousy and wickedness, a country where people pay good with evil or refuses to pay back loans given to them with abeg, abegii Nigerians are the most wicked people I have seen on the face of the earth; you will welcome them with an open mind and be going out of your way to help them meanwhile they’ll be planning how to rob you and betray you. This same person that wrote this is probably living abroad and enjoying the benefits there but they will intentionally discourage people so that nobody will ask them for money or come over and drag their jobs with them. Make all of una getat abeg |

This thing no hard if you plan well. Job is not promised anywhere and permanent residence visa is not automatic . you would have to compete with Other British, European Union/Erasmus grads, Canadians, Australians e.t.c. I was a product of the PSW visa program after completing my masters in UK in 2009 and i missed the HSMP (highly skilled migrant program) by whiskers. Anyway, after I graduated in one year, I worked with PSW visa for two years, after one year on PSW, I had already saved enough proof of funds to japa to many other countries with immigration programs at that time like Denmark, Australia, USA and Canada. I eventually moved to one of these countries and now a citizen. Go to the UK, grab your masters in one year (not sure many countries give you that option), have a plan B whether to japa to Australia or Canada for their skilled visa programs or move to the USA for PhD which would most likely lead to green card. Or if you can, go to Australia, Canada or US instead right from the start if you are lucky enough to get their visas. |

mayo47:Like I said you can travel out if you like, but so many Nigerians abroad these days brings us shame. Nigeria is good for business and entrepreneurs and people that got jobs in blue chip companies, of course some must travel. Go to Victoria Island/Lekki/Ikoyi, you will see so many Europeans and Asians, South Americans etc. They are not tourists, they are here making money. Am not here to debate. Our lives are not same, if you are suffering here, of course you will be desperate, suit yourself. We are not same, we don't see things from same perspective, we don't make money same way. |

Advantages 1. Your are graduating from a reputable university with internationally recognized cert 2. You will acquire hands on skill ( in Nigeria computer science lab still dey use windows xp and vista) 3. You are not limited to the uk for life after study 4. It’s easier to to get opportunities as a Nigerian living outside Nigeria. |

| Re: Jakpa Advise: Think Critically by uvie66: 3:09pm On Aug 18, 2022 |
Testpen:In my opinion this is a pessimistic and short sighted view, why will one expect to immediately get a job or sponsorship immediately after there masters, the UK is a very competitive market and it takes time for one's dream to come to fruition, however an individual who has a masters in the UK is miles ahead in the pecking order compared to an individual who have a masters degree from any African university. |

Herbworks:Deep. Hahahahahahaha. I remember embarking on further japa runs after myself and a few friends graduated in the UK. Some extremely Patriotic naija colleagues that had families way up in government where bent on going back home to Nigeria. They believed getting job won't be hard for them back home. Well, 12 or 13 years after, they now send messages every now and then asking about how they can japa. I tell them I don't know anything about migration again. Last time I ever touched an immigration from or whatever visa application form was way back in 2012 or so when I filled visa application form for my family members to visit me abroad. |
