I am suspecting this LAPO bank. Seems they are deliberately delaying it.

IF YOU HAVE VISITED LAPO AND OPENED AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM. FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS. Especially if it is more than one week you have opened account with them, you may have been paid and not realize it.

First thing is to note that LAPO does not send account number and initial alerts to their customers like commercial banks do. To verify your account number, you have to go to the bank and confirm or follow this process:

1. Dial *371# with the phone number you registered with LAPO.

2. If your account has been opened, it will ask you to register a 4 digit code for transactions. Input any 4 digit.

3. Then proceed to check balance. You will see two LAPO accounts now. The first one is the original account opened for you by LAPO (and most likely will contain the money you gave to them during your account opening)
The second account is where you should get your loan money from NYIF.

4. Check the balance of the second account and you may be lucky to be paid already. If not, just chill then. At least you know that the process to get your money is underway.

Just chill. You will get the fund soon. The people who registered with LAPO already have had their names forwarded to Abuja and when they have been finally approved, you will get the fund in your LAPO account.

Bros my own problem is that the USSD code doesn't work. I went to the bank, the showed me that My account has been created. I even have the number. The USSD is saying enter your BVN to open new account

try the ussd code on the phone number you used and open it, if you have more than one try all of them, the right one will tell you to input a pin for transactions, 4 number is ok

I have one phone number. And that's what I gave them. Been trying ever since, still getting the same output. This is my fourth week.

Then you go to their branch and tell them to reactivate the number, if it didnt work then you have to do the transfer of the funds to your main account if it has been disbursed. LAPO Can be fustrating

Really, I did mine too at that same Bodija Branch. I was there today, told me they are working on it. Those guys are yet to open the account.

OK. If that's the case, that means the account might have been opened. How will one now know that the acct has been credited since they dont send alert and the short code is nt linked to the acct?.

This might help someone.

From my own observations, There are designated Lapo branches for disbursing these loans. Try and find out which to enable you have a smooth process.

I went to two branches where they didn't really know about it, and even gave me wrong info before I was directed to the designated branch.

Hint: If the security doesn't know about it once you mention nyif, you're probably in the wrong place.

I just filled a form and they photocopied the docs I took along. Then was told I would be called when the money drops. Like 3 weeks later I did get called, signed a cheque and was given my cash. Didn't open any account. No troubles or arguments. Everything went so smoothly I was even suspicious due to the stuff I read here.

Said it wasn't any of their business, they are just avenues to disburse the loan.
