I took the Campus France confirmation mail along but they didn't request the confirmation mail from me at VFS so it was not part of the documents. So I thought it was not necessary as they had a checklists of doucments they were collecting. I don't know if that will affect my application.

Hello everyone,

Can someone please advice, I have searched the forum and can't find anything specific to my enquiry

I have a planned UK trip with my family member
We are looking at visiting Paris for a weekend during that UK trip.
We are first time Schengen applicants.

I am freelancer so I don't have an employer or anyone to write a letter to the consulate introducing me.

I also have travel history to the UK, US, UAE same as my family member. And we both currently have UK & US visas.

In terms of bank statements can my family member sponsor the trip? Or would we need to tender separate travel docs?

Thanks for your assistance!

Good day House,

I applied for an airport transit visa (transiting country, Netherlands) at the VFS. My booking appointment for biometric is August 29th. How long will it take to be issued the transit visa.

Thanks

Is not necessary that someone will write embassy introducing you. As a freelancer you are self employed except you work for someone remotely as employee . All you need do is to write statements of purpose letter explaining every details about your travel plan
Since you have traveled to western countries you can apply as frequent traveler not first time traveller . You have more chance to get the visa.
You will need your statement of account and each of you should apply with separate documents even due you are going together

Is not necessary to mention refusal as each application is treated differently. I was once denied France visa same year I replied and got it without mentioning the refusal. If your documents are correct you will get it.

You can book hotel reservations online but choose to pay on your arrival at the property print the reservation for your visa application, when you get the visa you can cancel it and make another choice or use Abnb. For me someone hosted me during my visit

You can use KLM choose to pay at their office the reservation will be sent to your email print it and add to your application but they cancel it 3 days later meanwhile I advise you do the reservation a day or the day you are submitting your application. thou embassy don’t check if you paid or not because they don’t expect you to pay flight when you have not gotten visa is just to let them see your itinerary
