That’s your oxygen sensor. Order for a replacement complete sensor because it comes joined together with it’s wiring OR look for a good electrician to join that one back to its harness under the carpet of your vehicle

It’s better replaced than joined. The ECU gets its reading and data communications directly from the O2 sensor, and any wrong joining of wires will damage the ECU.

My honda civic is having heating issues....the temperature gauge rises after prolonged driving or after driving with the AC on full blast for long.
Also if I start the car and open the radiator there are bubbles there.

Did your engine ever overheat badly before these issues started re-occurring? Bubbles appearing in the radiator when the engine is first started when cold is a telltale sign of head gasket leaks.

What’s the condition of your engine oil and radiator coolant/water? Do they look normal? Do their level change with time? Do you add coolant to the radiator frequently? Is your engine oil level at the usual guage?

It has heated before but didn't damage anything, the fan stopped working. So it melted the radiator seal under then we replaced the seal. Since then sha the heating issues has started.....the coolant is fine(water), the engine oil colour seems normal.

From the story you’ve told me I’d not suspect the head gasket just yet although there’s a probability it might come to fixing finally. As far as your vehicle does not smoke to cause the engine oil shortage then there’s some little things you should do first before paying someone to dismantle your engine to get to the head gasket as it’s supposed to be the last resort.

First make sure both your cooling fans are functioning properly and at the correct speed. Change their engines if you haven’t already done so.

I hope you’ve not removed your thermostat yet, if you’ve still got a thermostat installed in your engine then I think it’s time you changed it to another one in case the one in there has begun to fail gradually.

What’s the condition of your radiator now after the fix? Has it not occurred to you that there might be some internal leaks or structural damage that is blocking water passages? If I were you I’d go ahead and change the radiator, anything that makes a component to melt in it means something else unseen must have deteriorated too. Also make sure the water hoses to and from the engine to radiator are all structurally sound without any cracks or leaks at their joints or in their body.

If you’ve done all the above and there’s still an overheating episode (and bubbles still show in your radiator when you start it up in the mornings) then you should schedule your engine for a head gasket change asap and reduce the frequency you use it until you do so.

Good day house, I have a tapping sound on my EOD 2003 engine and a serious leak around the VVT solenoid.

I have replaced the VVT solenoid a couple of times and the problem still persists. I use about 5litres oil (5W20 as stated on owners manual) for every 600-700 miles.

At this point, oil will already be below the second hole on the deep stick. I stay in Lagos.

Mechanics in the house guide a brother.

What engine is in your vehicle and what exactly is the issue?

Is it the vtc?

Is it the leakage?

That car is not for Uber. If you want good profit margin continue with your civic or get a Corolla

Hello house.
I've been having this nagging check engine light that keeps popping up after clearing it every two days of driving. (P1028) saying engine is running too low for temperature sensor to detect. I have Changed the thermostat with a brand new OEM I got from AliExpress. I have also had the coolant changed. For the sensors, I had both changed with a fairly used due to this Nigeria dollar policy I couldn't get new ones from AliExpress as at the time of changing the coolant.
I have managed to place an order for new sensors hopefully it should mitigate the issue.
Kindly drop your advise to help with this situation if I haven't done all that is required.
Thanks.
PS.
Took it to the guys at automedics and they said it's the ECU abi na brain box. I felt that was off as the car in question is just two months old. Bought it foreign used civic 06.

Thanks for the feedback. It's a 4 cylinder engine. The issue is the leakage from the identified solenoid area and tapping sound of the engine in short.

The transmission issue affected mostly the V6’s from 2003-2004. So discussion continues is okay both the 4cyl and V6 gearbox wise.

For ball joint issue just change it once every 2 years if you I’ve in an area with extremely terrible roads.

It’s a common problem in these gearboxes but it’s easy to fix. Read this post below to have an idea of the issue
