I'm unable to get a room from here , its always one issue or another and it has been so tedious , hence my request , please be kind enough to get my message instead of thinking everyone is an opportunist . CountVersailles: 11 Likes |

CountVersailles:For someone who sometimes appears to be logical and balanced in their writing, something is really amiss somewhere. I can't understand how asking for help gave rise to the insinuation (disguised as a question) that they borrowed their POF. There could be many explanations for this, but you chose the most cynical of them all. Do you derive joy from making these cynical remarks against other people? Is this how you relate with others in your circle? Or you're just nasty behind a keyboard? Whatever it is, you're exhibiting early stage signs of a sociopath, please look into some counselling. 36 Likes |

Oreoluwamipo:What happened to presenting that as your initial problem and having people here or anywhere else point out how you could successfully navigate that problem? There are multiple requests here for help with finding a room and it's a problem that can be easily solved, if you present it as such. Why do you think bunking with a stranger is the best solution to your "problem"? You have the choice of AirBnB for a few days. You have so many rooms from Indian landlords scattered around Scarborough especially on Kijiji. You have hundreds of options if you are interested in looking. Except of course you are not telling the full story. 3 Likes |

Oreoluwamipo: It is not that easy to get a place from outside Canada. You can book an Airbnb, as oluayebenz stated and start your aggressive search, and Kijiji and Facebook marketplace is your plug. Just look for one affordable Airbnb within your budget, at least to have a roof over your head, then search from there. It gives you opportunity to inspect what you would renting. Rents are paid first of every month and most rents kickstart first of the month. Plan your schedule to checkout of your Airbnb at the end of a month. All the best with your search. 1 Like |

olasubomy:It's very easy with Airbnb etc but it appears this person is extending Naija begging to Canada hence why the other guy was asking of the POF. Last time, my guy got PR visa approval while I was thinking he would ask for help as my room was unoccupied as I was in Nigeria, he got himself Airbnb and has been there till September 1. He has his room paid six months in a basement in North York. 2 Likes 1 Share |

i am actually dumbfounded on how people will come online to look for free accommodation. Yes, the Visa Officers who ask to show POF know that you will eventually be sorted but want you to have some money(minimal) with which you will use to settle in. We should do better, in my opinion. oluayebenz: 1 Like |

aestake: I understand. I was writing about getting a place. Sure, you can book Airbnb from anywhere. Not many people coming to Canada know so much about how it works here, and it is just humane to communicate nicely with people. I don’t think asking the POF question was necessary to me, but hopefully, the moniker can sort out the accommodation issue 2 Likes |

Relocating abroad is an investment. Truly everyone provided evidence of pof which in most cases is packaged. Lets try to also find real money to settle in. GTA in Ontario is one of the hardest places to get accommodation as a new comer because house prices are expensive, landlords dont want story as mortgage has to be paid and you can’t evict someone easily . takes 2 to 3 months to even get a date with the court people. A friend who came 2 months ago with a job offer of 76k from an audit firm. Still found it hard to get accommodation and had to extend airbnb. Me self spent 6 weeks in airbnb costing me over 2k cad. Wetin man for do. People you know may not house you or give excuses. Because there is usually no free room in their house like in Nigeria, or landlord rules saying no one can stay over past maybe a day or two, or its a shared apartment where other tenants will complain. If you don’t have anyone there abeg go and borrow money for airbnb. 12 Likes |
