I’m enjoying the Spanish Vs Netherland game, talk to you later. By the way I’m still wondering how the Dutch side take win us…. Sad one
I thought no one will comment on how bad the dutch team were defensively. They put three bodies on the dutch defense and a mistake came as a result and goal!!

We left Okwuchukwu to be the lone presser, and got nothing tangible out of that approach.

On the other hand, the spanish defence have serious carpenters, and that is why I'll tip Japan to colet their thing in peace.

The challenge though is that the team isn't deep enough in my opinion to be real contenders. I really hope she moves to a bigger team. If Spain Barcelona, or any of the giants in England or France.

You’re right though but they’re still one of Spain biggest team.. Upfront Ludmila, Ajibade, Banini can do the job for them
This year I’m predicting this team as the top 5 in the Spanish Premier Ibedradola..

1. BARCELONA FEMENINO
2. REAL MADRID
3. ATLETICO MADRID
4. SEVILLA FC
5. REAL SOCIEDAD

There could be surprise though…. I won’t be surprised if Sevilla fc finish top3 because they made some quality signings too…

Just watched the first goal now and see her world class assist for the goal , she casually rolled the ball between 5 defenders and they all couldn't stop it grin i can see Ajibade dropping 25 goal+Assist this season

It can happen though…. She stands a great chance in the team as she plays any position upfront comfortably…

Are you exactly suggesting that Athletico Madrid isn't big enough? Like.. is Barca the only big team in Spain, in those other two leagues, how many teams are bigger than Athletico Madrid?

The comments obviously had a context and had nothing to do with how big or small Ath. Madrid is. The expressed concerned was primarily about competitiveness, overall success and being title contenders.

Athletico Madrid has finished 4th/5th in the last 4 years and haven't featured in Europe because of this. It's obvious Ajibade is a fantastic player, but her club success is going to play a big role in her individual success hence my concern.

BTW, don't know what your metrics for "big" is (outside the context of my comments), but there are clubs in England and France that are obviously bigger than Athletico Madrid

Don't you know what they call squad depth ?

In my opinion, the top five teams in the Spanish league are competitive enough, hence my use of BIG. Also, A/Madrid is competitive enough with just a few additions, even with its current squad. I never meant there were no bigger/ more competitive clubs in those leagues as compared with Athletico Madrid, but they're very few.

Succinctly put, a player who is very competitive and consistent in a club like A/Madrid is very much okay by me... Everyone need not play for Barca.

I think you're thinking of the depth of Barca and Lyon, but Athletico Madrid actually has enough depth.

Consistently finishing top 4 of the Spanish league isn't bad by any standard. But for Ajibade, almost is not enough.

With Asisat's dominance on the African scene gradually weaning, Ajibade is the next big thing. Playing for a "just good enough" club that will also deprive her of playing in Europe may just be the clog in the wheel.

Hoping they do significantly well this season, or that she moves to a better club.

It's just a matter of time before Ajibade makes the leap to a much bigger team ..... She's on the right track and as long as she doesn't divert, she could rule the African scene soon as Oshoala is doing ..

Only injury or losing her speed can reduce Asisat's dominance in Africa..

Asisat is 27 years old so her dominance is not and never gradually weaning.. Asisat and many other players can have dominance in Africa together.

Glory Ogbonna have been given more than enough chance, so there’s nothing to talk about by the way she’s not even up to the Makeshifts Left Backs Tony Payne and Ashleigh Plumptre sef!

Right now she’s not even better than U20 Ramat Imuran even though the game at the Senior level is more tougher, quicker and requires more and more..

I wonder what you want to defend here.!
These are not good Left Backs. Tony Payne is excellent Right Back while Ashleigh Plumptre is a magician at LCB. Ashleigh is easily outpaced by pacy wingers. While would any coach move Tony to Left Back while she is a landlord at the Right Back?

Flourish ended this badly, esp in rating.

Two silly mistakes were the biggest difference for this match, forget our inability to find the net. Coming from your captain, in a team where most of the girls look up to you, shows how those mistakes affected morale.

The Dutch Ajax approach was just vivid. Unlike France, they did their home work on our attackers.

We failed woefully in tactics.

They were playing from the back and only Okwuchukwu was pressing and running while Sebastine was not doing same. Amoo and Abiodun left their markers 5times in the first half. Like, they weren't marking nobody and so two useless legs for 5 times.

Jerry Joy added a spark to the press. I'm sure if we simply beat their press, we would have made them falter and get goals. We made them comfortable at the back.

2nd half showed desperation and breakdown of mental strength as everyone wanted to shoot tame shots at goal. Alani that i was scared for had a good game.

This loss pained Onyenezide pass everybody else.

The post match interview of Danjuma reveals a touch of tactical cluelessness.
The knowledge of anything aftermath does not indicate intelligence. Africans in general and Nigerians in particular tend not to have knowledge of anything beforemath. Before the Falconets were defeated by a better technically sound team than them, most contributors on this forum frowned at the instance the Falconets are technically lost.

Toni is far better on the right yes, but she plays the Left Back far better than Glory Ogbonna which is the issue on ground..

In terms of pace Ashleigh Plumptre would be beaten but she’s more intelligent and tends to position herself wisely and when she burst forward, she does well.
Unlike Glory Ogbonna, going forward and defensively i haven’t been impressed at all..

Still waiting for the rightful time when the likes of Patricia George, Ramat Imuran will own that position.

As for Nicole Payne she’s a right back but your Coach will gladly play them all out of position..

Don’t also forget the Word I used there as Makeshift Left Backs because that isn’t that Original Position but they have performed better than Glory Ogbonna who’s Originally a Left Back..
