Hi, I would advise not to defer your admission. Write to the school about starting your fall courses online while you wait for your visa. I know UofC gave international students this option due to the visa delay issues. University of Ottawa might do the same as most Universities tend to do same things. When you get a response, do a webform to IRCC about your application exceeding the processing time and the importanceof your studies; also the fact that you will lose money, your admission and time if you don't get a feedback by 20th of September.

SaniceSanice123:
Good evening. Please I have a serious problem.

My school is starting 7th of September, so I emailed my school on deference, they replied that they don’t defer that I will have to reapply which is not certain if they will give me admission for fall 2023. They also said they don’t take winter admission cos it’s close for 2023.

Please I’m confused, I applied for visa in July and it’s looking like I may not get decision by September, I intend applying to schools that allow January intake because my school university of Ottawa has closed winter intake but I don’t know if it will affect my visa application. And how do I go about this, please I need help

NB: I used university of Ottawa for my visa application and they want to withdraw my admission before September 20.
What if IRCC gives me visa but I don’t have any school to go to then, what would happen? What’s the solution? Please help

1. You can apply with your family even for a one-year program if you can demonstrate you have sufficient funds and home ties. Otherwise, you can apply alone, then once you get to Canada, send them a copy of your study permit and proof of full-time enrolment for them to apply immediately.
If you complete a 1-year program, you will be eligible for a 1-year PGWP; with a 2-year program, you will receive a 3-year PGWP. If you want them to apply after you have completed your studies, you can apply for your PGWP with theirs. For your spouse to be eligible for SOWP, you must work in a NOC A, B or O (Skilled job).
2. Your GPA has nothing to do with this. You can apply together or apply for them when you come to Canada.
3. For most Master’s programs, you need at least a 2.1. However, some consider your GPA for the last two years.
4. Yes, you can.
Thank you so much

Hello house, So back in 2020 I had a remote programming job and earned USD monthly. I have legit employer payslips and Payoneer account deposit receipts and DOM account statement as proof.

My savings in DOM account is enough for POF.

Since 2021 Feb I’ve been doing freelance work with no salary earnings and I registered a company with CAC.

Do I need to pay myself from my company as proof of employment and home tie?

Or is my deed of assignment and payslips from the abroad company enough for my home ties?

Also, the said property address corresponds to where I live both on the passport page and everything.

You are just unnecessarily trying to oppose something clear. What does a red flag mean? Is it not something that can draw attention and lead to further scrutiny? Again, I wonder why you are eager to oppose without first gaining an understanding. First, you commented on my statement regarding an application assessment before it is sent to a visa officer to make the final decision. Luckily @ Frankrobbn1, who we know has immense knowledge in this field, has confirmed it.

Lump-sum is always a red flag, of course, without explanation. However, if you are not focused so much on letting us know you are a guru, you would have noticed I went further to state that she explains the lump sum. In fact, I discussed how to go about it.

Sometimes the feeling that you are more knowledgeable than others can make you oblivious to things that need no interpretation. So, read to comprehend and stop focusing on a word.
