Tinubu didn't do anything special.

He only expanded taxes to those who weren't taxed before 1999, and started double taxing those who were paying taxes using touts.

He brought touts to markets taxing traders, brought tax on road users and increased state taxes for companies.

Note: this was the end of military rule, which wasn't a revenue driven period.

All states increased their revenue after 1999.

The reason you guys are campaigning with this is because Tinubu didn't do anything noteworthy.

Upon all the IGR Tinubu still left a debt of 100 billion for Fashola with no government funded project to show for it.

Anybody can run Lagos without Federal allocation. Do you also know that Lagos still remains the most indebted state in Nigeria despite the huge revenue accruals? Did Tinubu not inherit an urbanised Lagos from the military? Which other state in Nigeria had same infrastructural development and investment, multinationals companies etc in 1999 like Lagos?
