I did renew my passport, and i am using it in my application. i am just worried that they would say u already have a valid visa and refuse me because of that. The reason i want to apply early is to apply with my son so that he can get the visa as well ( his appication is in the system with no movement for a year). And since I have an active US visa and TRV, i am hoping to get a decision soon. Have there been people who renewed with a few months vality, please share your experiences.

P.S I got a 5 year visa last time.

It depends on your travel plans. If your travel plan is to travel soon later in the year, then you can’t apply for a new visa since you already have one still running. You can exercise some patience towards December/January and plan towards a travel date post expiry date of your visa. You can plan towards applying when the visa is almost expired for a renewal with that of your son.

Alternatively, apply for that of your son now but you never can tell when decision would be made and yours might be too close to expiry at that time.

Are flight tickets included in the 760k? My friend obtained the visa but was unable to find cheap tickets. The cheapest he saw so far for September vacation trip was about 1.3 million for tickets alone.

He doesn’t use agent.

Please where did you get the tickets from?

Flight ticket is not included. It includes 3 Night Hotel, Visa fee, Airport transfer, half day tour and their service charge. Flight is very expensive now. Last week of September is a very busy time in Singapore. There is the Asia Crypto week holding there and also the F1 Grand Prix happening so flight currently is as high as $3500+ for economy, and still rising. I booked it for $1980 on trip.com
Hotel cost too has tripped.

Are you back from the Singapore tour? And how was the experience

No I have not gone. I'm going September 26th.

Please I have a question for those who travel often in and out of the country. I will be going to Singapore in the 26th of Sept for 5 days and I intend to buy some of the new IPhone 14s when coming back. I will walk into official Apple store and pay cash. I want to know if there is any chance of having issues with immigration/customs at any of the airports (Singapore, Doha or Nigeria). Just like 6 or 7 Phones. I will obviously have my proof of purchase and they will be inside my luggage. Do they give issues in such cases please or I am good to go?
Thanks

The process of applying for visit visa is pretty the same. You just need to justify in your application that you meet the requirements for a visit visa by addressing all eligibility criteria. It is more convincing when you apply from Nigeria except you have a solid tie to the foreign country you are applying from like a regular job that would compel you to leave Canada to resume back to work and you are in that country legally.

This is not to discourage you and does not mean you cannot apply from the United States, but you would have to make sure your application looks convincing to the visa officer since you are on a temporary resident visa and the officer expect you should be studying to avoid refusal based on immigration status.

This guy on Youtube link below explains the process very well. You can follow him and see how he does it. Though, he is explaining for parents, you can personalize those aspects to yourself.

After series of mails and webforms the biometric update issue was resolved after 86 days, all i can say is that God showed me mercy. Canada will really test ur faith, perseverance and overall patience. All i know is that i am coming back to testify
perfectbecky:
i submitted my study permit application since 16th June, 2022 and Biometrics was done on 21st June 2022, pls note i didnt do any upfront medicals. to my surprise till today no progress has been made on the application, not even eligibility. Also on the biometrics progress page its showing biometrics has not been received.
Please anyone with an idea of what's going on? i feel something might be wrong.

Your best bet is to order your GCMS notes to know what Is going on. If your biometric number and date are reflected at the top left corner of your portal, there is nothing to worry about. That means immigration has received your biometric data. The narration you are seeing at the lower part would change to “biometrics completed” once IRCC is done with their review of your biometrics. For some applicants, it comes early, while for others, it comes later in the application process.

I think you should plan to do upfront medical to fasten your application process except you feel you have enough time and want to explore waiting for medical request from IRCC.

Yes upload them. A number of people got this same thing without any email notification after they did this week’s servicing (it appears it might be a bug from their end). Just to be safe, upload the documents again even if you uploaded it before. All is well with IRCC and their confusion.

help yourself by ready page 1. Unless you have good home ties, good reason for visiting and sufficient funds. They will likely deny you. Relocating to Canada via visit visa is unlikely for most Nigerians. Know this and know peace

It takes some time, patience and effort to have a grasp of immigration guidelines. Visit the Express Entry thread and read through the previous pages. You can use the search option to find answers to your questions and ask them about areas you are unclear about.

You can start your reading from here:

Hello, I got PPR within 2 weeks of initiating the whole process

Application submission: Feb 26th
Biometric letter: Feb. 27th
Capturing: March 3rd
BVL: March 10th
Passport request: March 10th.

I used the new link. I have no travel history. I used my two accounts to show POF. I have a married citizen brother who invited me. I will be there for the easther holiday.

So my question, can I deliver my passport in person at the Lagos office? I used them for the biometrics

Please can you drop the new link here please please please

They will stress you in Naija when you get back. Shrink wrap your suitcase please oo, if possible roger them when you want to exit the airport because they will stress you unrealistically. In other news dont forget to collect your VAT refund form at the shop and collect your 7% VAT at the airport in Singapore before returning to naija.
