So not fixing the bad road will make you to be driving the wrong way. I know someone like you will still pass one way tomorrow and when your car is been auctioned , Then you will go on the internet as usual claiming Lagos is bad and blaming APC
Mumu I don't pass one way but what am saying is the action used to auction peoples vehicles should also be used to fix the whole roads in Lagos

You think Lagos is your useless state where animals rule you. If you try nonsense in Lagos, you and your family will be sacrificed to appease our gods.
Track you and your family members and you will see hell.
lol, you never see problem in your life before did you? You will run like rabbit when it surp. Infact the owners of Lagos sef will run cross burder. Those odes who are jumping into the lagoon in Lagos, that's what they suppose to do to eliminate those who put them in bad situation. You will collect my car and auction it in my presence? Hmm, even innocent people will follow die. If you think you are doing fine, don't dragg with a fraustrated person, for a grown-up man to be crying, me I won't cry, I will kill you. Even in US, traffic offender will be charged to court, if found guilty, judge will ask you to pay certain amount. Africa are very wicked to themselves. As for you. You are just a coacroach that will be smash with sander

Well, that is draconian, to say the least.

Since he was there during the auctioning, he should have notified the officials so the officials in turn give him a concession such that he will be the one to buy the car. If that happens, he will end up buying his own car even at less than competitive price. The amount he pays for the car now being his fine for whatsoever offence he had committed.

Yes, it happened to a colleague who got his car imported with fake papers and the customs officers impounded the car. His car was subsequently auctioned to him at a very reduced price.

Anyway, no need crying over spilled milk, he should take heart, shiits do happen.
An auction typically involves a bid.

He would try to optimize for a low bid and so won't win the bid. He'll be outbidded.

Any auction with preferential rights for a particular person is NOT an auction. If you think he should pay it as fine then he would as well have since paid the fine — so as not to be in this situation.

Our country is just sick.

May God help us.

yes o! That your government should learn to do first thing first

Fix the roads first and anyone who contravenes traffic law becomes a madman whom we will join them to teach a lesson

here in the US, here in the US... all these lucky chaps sef.

what is the minimum wage in the US, and what is the maximum traffic fine?

You're a compound fool, who asked you all the stupid rambling you're dishing out, I've never met anyone that lacks this much direction on this forum.
Look at how timid and primitive you are to quickly show your low self-esteem at the mention of America.
Only local runts like you think we're bragging whenever we talk about life in the US.

Good one. It will teach him a lesson to stop disobeying traffic rules. Nigerians need a strong hand to discipline them as many of them are typically he-goats who will never listen, regardless what the law says, especially the men. Things like this are needed to enforce discipline in the system.
The lagos state government that sets up traffic rules with no traffic signages just to confuse and set up drivers and exploit themhuh

The lagos state road/traffic system is criminal.

Yankee vibes bah? I don't know why an average African feels good when his fellow brother or sister is in pains.
I will say this again for those who have ears, we can't copy the whites on most things cos our realities are different, we should develop home made solutions for our peculiar issues. You see this tears, it will go round as far as these set of leaders are concerned.

In as much as disobeying traffic rules is bad, there should have been a lighter punishment or option of fine......i hate seeing grown ups cry, moreso a man, who knows thats his source of livelihood cry cry
Lighter punishment is the reason why Nigeria is in a mess today. If Niger Delta militants were arrested, Fulani and BH militants and terrorists persecuted, and corrupt politicians imprisoned with the maximum of the law, do you think Nigeria will be facing insecurity today

This is stupid! Why not impound his car and force him to pay 100k in 4 months instalments instead or some other fine that still ends with the man recovering his vehicle at the end of the day. I feel the man's agony. He probably must be feeding his family from the proceeds of that car!
You can even punish him by giving him community service to do like sweeping the road for one month or even dig gutter. This guys are just a bunch of criminals.

When it involves the common man, the law is swift and followed to the latter.

When it involves the so-called "ogas at the top", the case would drag on till infinity until it is eventually swept under the carpet or end up with very light sentences.

One country, different application of the laws of the land!

Chai, poor man don suffer!

I gladly support impounding and aution of Vehicles and motorcycles that drives against traffic. They have killed and given permanent disabilities and scars to other road users especially the pedestrians.
I will suggest they should also go through psychatric examination and if they good mentally, they should serve some months in jail.
