Its not difficult just go with ur spouse to the boarder tell the canadian CBSA agent u want to flagpole he will take you to the US boarder. When u get there US will deny u entry since u dont have a valid US visa and u return with the CBSA agent and he will take all ur spouse document and 235cad from you to issue you a work permit.
You have to go very early cos it takes alittle bit of time

Yes, there is no crime in disclosing that he has a part time job but you need to submit his letter of employment and pay stub. It is legal for international student to do part time job.

It is not necessary to submit your kids last school report card but if you wish to do otherwise you may add it to client information section

If you spouse has valid us visa he cant flagpole. If he has already applied and he comes in with a visit visa then u pay twice and get approval twice

You can apply in parallel and allow IRCC to decide which application to process. Usually, they will cancel your VV application, and process your SOWP application. Good luck!

Hello everyone. I have a question please.
I am submitting an open work permit for my husband on a new profile (His). I am confused on two of the forms.

The first form (Schedule 1- application for a temporary resident visa made outside of Canada). It was stated on the form that every person mentioned in the application that would accompany you to Canada must complete the form. However, I cant attach two forms and when I try merging two completed forms, it rejected it.


Please note that I indicated that I would be joining my Husband to Canada even though I am already here.

The second form which is the Family form. How many do I need to complete? Also, it did not have space to include siblings. Do I have to include it or leave it at spouse, mother and father, as it is already?

As it is right now, you are even running late with time, you are suppose to have applied for your SOWP as soon as your spouse arrived Canada and forwarded you the necessary documents you need to attach to your SOWP which includes SIN, student ID and study permit. So kindly go ahead and apply for your SOWP as quickly as possible please and pay no regard to what that consultant has said.
Secondly, you need a total of 6 months of your bank statement for your application.
Your letter of explanation doesn’t have to be a certain number of pages, just try to make sure you hit on the important and vital points.

1. You can apply anytime. I applied for my spouse july 22nd while my flight was august 3rd. Now when i got to canada i sent my study permit sin and invitation letter with my address via webform and email and her application and that of the kids were approved
2. Not less than 4months. The more you have the better for your application
3. My LOE for wife application was 2 pages. Her LOE was 2 pages and 1 page invitation letter. So it depends on ur story and your reasons for joining her/him. There is no hard and fast rule to it.

Please is there any other way I can go about it? I have 2 kids and I want my wife and kids to come and meet me not too long after I get there.

NOC doesn't really matter when it comes to SOWP.

Go ahead with your application for your family.

Yes, if the spouse (main applicant) is on work permit or post graduate work permit. But of the spouse is on student permit, it doesn't matter.

What permit are you on? Student permit or work permit?

If you are on work permit or PGWP yes, you must be on NOC 0, A or B, but if you are on study permit, then your NOC doesn't matter.

Modified: just noticed you mentioned going for work, so I am assuming it's work permit. Yes you must be on NOC 0,A or B. So when you get inside Canada get a job on the NOC 0,A or B then apply for your family. By the way, are you on a closed work permit or open work permit this may be tricky if you are on closed work permit.

SOWP PPR is here!....

Hello house, please rejoice with me as my wife's PPR just dropped. We applied on June 16 2022, review started first week in August and medical was updated to pass on August 8 (did upfront medical). Bvl letter sent on August 17th, and ever since then, no update!

Although we were worried why BVL was sent without PPR, we were calm as the application has been processed faster than we expected (65 wks processing time as at the time we submitted in June)

But on seeing the message that @Kam3 posted this morning that her/his PPR already dropped, I was motivated to contact IRCC since Kam3 submitted his/her application in July while we submitted June.

I immediately wrote an email to IRCC, explaining that we were yet to hear back from them since BVL was sent. I immediately received a confirmation email that I will be responded to in 5 working days. Since it's late here Canada, I was just about going to bed when my wife called that I should check her gmail for an email from IRCC.

Lo and behold, PPR message has dropped! That was just like 28 mins after I sent the email to IRCC.

I am happy to provide details of necessary docs that were submitted if anyone is interested in that. I am also happy to provide guidance for any future SOWP applicants. Meanwhile, my wife and I got married in December 2021, and I returned to Canada in January 2022. She just finished her undergraduate studies last month, so this good news is coming at the right time!

I want to use this medium to return all thanks and praises to Almighty God who facilitated my wife's SOWP.

I also want to thank everyone on this platform who has been so helpful in responding to messages, and providing necessary guidance on the SOWP application. Without your help and testimonies here, we wouldn't have been able to put forward a very strong application.

And for those of us still waiting for a decision, yours is next! Regularly pray about your application and don't lose hope.

And just an advice, when sending message to IRCC, be humble, praise them first, acknowledge that you understand they are dealing with lots of applications before making your request.
