I quite agree with you to the extent that if the govt didn’t charge the offenders before the requisite court and consequently obtained a forfeiture order, yesterday’s auction would amount to a nullity. Nothing short of daylight robbery.

It is a cardinal principle of law that the govt cannot be the accuser and the judge in its case.

Those who has their cars auctioned without a forfeiture order can approach the court and enforce their fundamental right.

Lagos state govt is not bigger than the law of the land.

I'm very sure many govt emmisaries and allies would have disobeyed the traffic and go scot free,but its the average citizens that always bear the brunt. Everyone want to be expert on what is constituctional or not. This is why Nigeria is not working because nobody want to follow the rules. If this people follow the rules, am sure their car will not be taking away. Nigeria is one country in the world where the citizens do what they feel like regardless of the rules set, not obey traffic rules, traffic light, stop signs, driving against traffic and all manner of offences whether they kill people or not....all they care about is for themselves.
