Never Date or Marry A Nigerian Nurse by JackDaAlienz(m): 5:43pm On Sep 21, 2022
What I just witness today in FMC was truly horrible.
A girl brought her unconscious. Mother to hospital. She was crying and wailing as her mother lay unconscious.

The nurses where busy cracking jokes, some were even laughing at the way the girl was crying.

I felt so much anger hearing them laugh.
Why are nurses so emotionless towards dying patients

Nigerian nurses are very wicked without emotion

Just one encounter and you already draw your irrational conclusion....

Not 1 nurse but a group of them laughing over a girl crying over her dead/unconscious mother.
You have to be pute evil to be able to laugh at somebody's misfortune

So in conclusion according to you, we shouldn't marry any Nigerian nurse because they are ALL wicked?? Right?

Not just the nurses but the doctors but I won't go as far as to generalize.

I personally prefer private hospitals.

I get instant service although I get to pay higher.

But FMC, is a no go area.

A lady lost her child due to their negligence. After giving birth to her premature baby.

Due to their inability to supply constant electricity, the premature baby gave up the ghost.

They still have the nerve to detain the lady from going until her husband pays #1m plus.

When you come for emergency, the medical personnel there will just ignore you.

I think they have seen so much death that it no longer bothers them.
BUT to crack jokes and laugh at a young girl crying bitterly over her unresponsive mother.
Bro that is the highest form of evil
I will never marry a nurse!!!!!

Someone up there was saying don't generalize. The average Nigerian Nurse has a hardheart. They are promiscuous, worship money, bad-mouthed and all they know how to do is slimfit their white dress so that their useless ass can be more visible to the highest bidder.

That's why you barely see a doctor marrying a nurse because they know what those b*tches do in public and behind closed doors. Jezebels in white apparel undecided

Can't remember when last I saw so much generalizations in one post!

I know of many docs that are married to nurses. In fact, nurses are HOT CAKES for docs.

I know of many EXCELLENT nurses. My wife's roommate, for example, is a Nigerian-trained nurse with a heart of gold.

Please, let's stop hasty generalizations.

Not true.

Humans can be promiscuous, if they want to. There are promiscuous pastors, engineers, accountants, doctors, soldiers, etc.

Those ppl including doctors see Patients as spoilt car or TV that needs to be amend and will only be amended when they have chance.

They value human as commodities, Just have enough cash and go to private hospital, they will look after u and will even obliged to be ur personal doctor.

Poverty is a serious menace to the society

I understand you frustration and experience.

However, not all Nurses are like that.

As per morality, there are many Nurses who are moral. However, you need to understand that in any female dominated profession, it's natural to see male making advances towards them.

Those slim fitting their uniforms are those between 18-25years who as young ladies won't be different from what other young ladies do.

Doctors , especially the older generation marry nurses alot and the reason is simple; most Medical Schools were isolated in Teaching Hospitals ,away from the rest of their parent universities. When Medical Students got to 400L-600L, they started dating the females they see regularly, the Nursing Students! In the days of old, many such relationships resulted in marriages.

The reasons why Doctors no longer fall for the Nurses is simple: Many College of Medicine now admit more Female Medical Students and there are now many Females studying Medical related courses in those colleges,so there are more options to chose from.

The falling standards of morality also mean many young people can just date, have sex without commitment that can lead to marriages.

It is one of the tenets of the job, you have to be emotionless in other to maintain objectivity, what are they suppose to do cry with the girl or what, what you just witnessed is what they see everyday, so how many will they cry with or show remorse for, you should praise them because it takes heart to do some certain jobs.

Oga, what u said is not perculia to nurses or doctors professions alone, but general attitudes of Nigeria's workers on duty. Go to university system and see lecturers that refuse to lecture, go to police station and see how police will reluctant to do his work, what of ministry or even local governments, they only expecting salaries at the end of each month.

Meanwhile, I don't blame workers but govt,
Nos, 1. No commusurate renumerations.
Nos,2. Govt not setting up mechanism of monitoring and discpline erring workers.

In absent of such mechanism, there is high tendency for workers to be unruliing and reluctant to do his/her job.

As per promiscuity, morality is dropping generally, again, go to local governments or ministries or even among armed forces and see things urself. Infact, female nurses still far better than other professions.

You do realize how bleeped the Nigerian public service is, right?! Apart from bad leadership that everyone cries about when it's convenient, who else would've tanked the public service that if not the workforce?! Would demons have materialized from the nether realms to do it or aliens from Pluto?! No!!!

I was consistently mismanaged in that same useless pit of hell for over 4yrs while still in Naija. I still have friends, relatives and old associates in that town. Funny I and someone were even rehashing these kinds of tales from the past and we still drifted on to how absolutely beastly Nurses and cranky Docs in Nigeria come over here and start behaving. I was sharing experiences with someone in the UK, mind you.

They come out here and shape up, why?
1. Industry Certifications based on training and retraining with ethics, discipline and best practices constantly reiterated all through...

2. Rigid Workplace Standards to adhere to erring more on the side of the humane service delivery than revenue generation models obtainable in Nigeria

3. Constant Monitoring

4. Regulations

5. High Consumer Protection Rights entrenched in and guaranteed by the law. How many dozens of times have we read of cases of mismanaged patients in Nigerian hospitals who never get justice? I was zoned to an evil consultant who abandoned consulting me just because I didn't go doing an expensive diagnostics procedure in a Centre he wrote almost 2 States away. I instantly became his enemy for not going there and netting him a referral commission. And I don't know if they're still running that policy but I wasn't allowed to see another Consultant Surgeon. Once you get sent to their SOpC (Surgical Outpatient Clinic), the Consultant who starts with you must keep being the one seeing you till eternity. They don't swap files. God help you if you go inside the the consulting room to find you're being seen by some Dr. whose girlfriend you took or daughter you screwed, you're doomed! Yeh, that same FMC.

Bad systems do not only empower wicked people, but they also produce more bad eggs and frustrate good people till some of them go rotten. Nigerian systems don't produce saints presently. And you'd probably faint to hear the travails of the truly conscientious saints in there in their bid to stay noble. The rest don't just give a flipping fck.

If we're gonna be talking about this at all, i think we should be having an issues based convo with focus on causes and effects, problems and solutions, rather than sentimentally trying to pick sides on generalization OR wondering how such a fantastically and generally corrupt system couldn't, in most ways, now be peopled by unsavory souls. We should be busy thinking solutions especially if we're still interested in heading back to Naija some day, as change makers.

I think we should be more interested in how the general Nigeria systemic anomalies and endemic corruption effect will not overwhelm their sense of humaneness and professionalism. If they were happy, they wouldn't be the same ones striking up and down. Unhappy people don't generally treat others better than they are.

It’s not there problem.
It’s the problem of Nigeria, in Nigeria there’s no law.

In developed countries whether nurse or doctor you have pin, if out of your negligence you kill somebody they will take that pin from you, oyibo no dae hear sorry.

This is on point. Unfortunately a lot of japariees do not see themselves coming back to be "change makers" they would rather remain where they are as second class citizens.
