Better stick to your application you made online and explain yourself but what they were advising you to do is create a home tie i.e why the ECO should believe you will leave the UK.

Yes thank you I have just one more semester to finish school after the holidays in December so I would focus on using my school as my tie rather than financial asset and explaining how my parents are stuck on the old ways of given money in cash because they are old people all this bank transfers they don’t even know .

Good evening everyone.
Please do you think an account balance of about 1.4million and a 4 month statement of account would be good enough to apply for a visitor visa.
I have an exam in the UK in February and I'm just trying to get things ready ahead of time.
My Salary is 220k and monthly expenses about 50-60k

The requirement is six-month bank statements.

Some applicants used a 4 or 5 month bank statement, but most of them are frequent travelers.

Why don't you run the account for 6 months before you put in your application?

You can actually use 4 months bank statement as long as it is clean.

We have read here how an applicant was denied visa because he/she presented less than 6months bank statement, if you are a first time applicant, it's better you go by the rule of six months statement.for a frequent flyer, 4 or 5 months good statement can be considered.

I’m not saying people shouldn’t submit 6 months bank statement if they can. But it is not written anywhere that one must submit 6 months bank statement.

Hello House,
Has anyone had a recent experience applying for EU Settlement Scheme family permit in Lagos? Brief background, I have dual nationality Naija + EU and also have permanent residence in the UK under the EU Settlement Scheme. I am planning on inviting my mum over for a visit, she applied a couple of years back under the visitor category and was granted the visa, but she never used it due to Covid. I am thinking of using the EU route this time rather than the visitor route. I am just worried about introducing unnecessary complications to the process because I know this category is more scrutinised. Has anybody used this route recently how long did it take to get a decision? What documents were submitted? Any information will be much appreciated.

It is advisable for you to have in your account the amount that will cover the cost of your trip and also have reasonable amount you can fall back on when you return from your trip.

Please I see people complaining on this thread sometime ago about using wakanow as travel agency. Those who have used them should please explain if they are good or I should stay away because I intend to book with them tomorrow with either British Airways or Virgin Atlantic because it seems they are the only two with direct flights to the UK and I do not want to be going through the stress of learning how to apply for transit visa. Your prompt response will be highly appreciated. Thanks

What do you think about the account balance?

1.4 million naira is low balance for UK visa. The price of tickets for UK trip is currently above 750k. If I were you, I would run the account for at least six months.

Can one gets visa with that balance, yes, it’s possible especially for frequent travelers and those who have sponsors. One folk actually got visa with account balance of less than 1m.

In any case, it all depends on how your application is packaged. You may give it a shot.

This is just my own personal opinion. I am not an expert in this field.

is it plab 2? If yes they may close their eyes to some certain things if other boxes are well ticked. Try to ensure that you prove greatly beyond reasonable doubts that you will come back. If not plab 2… sorry I can’t speak on it

Good morning everyone.
I just arrived UK on a dependant visa with the MA and a 7years old son. What are the steps to take concerning:
(1) Getting a school for my boy.
(2) Opening a bank account.
(3) Applying and getting jobs.
(4) Idea about other things I need to do or put in place.
(5) I am a medical doctor. How do I go about the application for OET or IELTS, PLAB 1 and PLAB 2?

Thank you in advance.

(1) Getting a school for my boy. Due to his age check with your council as they would handle primary school admissions.
(2) Opening a bank account. With your BRP +/- proof of your address you can open with online banks like monzo or revolut or with street banks like Barclays.
(3) Applying and getting jobs.- indeed, reed etc but you need to know what you applying for
(4) Idea about other things I need to do or put in place.
(5) I am a medical doctor. How do I go about the application for OET or IELTS, PLAB 1 and PLAB 2?
As a doctor all this is on google.. book and pay for ielts or oet online, during or after passing open an account with GMC and continue from there. To book plab 1 slot, when u clear oet or ielts is when u can book plab 1. When u pass plab 1, then u’ll be able to see plab 2 seats. Google everything . All the information is there

Hello everyone.. I just want to ask. I am considering applying for Masters in either Psychology or Child and youth development. Are these courses really good course to study in the UK? Which one of these courses are capable of making one to get Skilled work visa (Tier 2 Sponsorship visa)? What chances does masters in psychology have in terms of job prospects?

Chief, if your aunt is the sponsor then all financial proof should be provided by her whether you're an adult or a minor. Have her provide you with her 6months bank statement, evidence she owns a home, her permission to be in the UK (passport bio page), invitation letter, municipal rates, and tax statements, and everything to show legitimacy.

If your personal statement can't help your cause don't include it. I would include it to demonstrate that i can afford the trip by myself but who doesn't love a good gift?

FYA : It took almost a whole month on a priority visa.. My advise is not to waste money on this service.

Documents submitted:
Landed property (Two Estate shops)
Another property with tenancy agreement
CAC Doc of my Mum's Fish Farm
Registered just this year.. so not active on website
Letter from her Bank introducing her
Letter from my Dad
2.3 Million Balance in one Account and 600k in another
Evidence of Pension remitted monthly to a first generation bank.

She still intends to use the visa, just unfortunate that the event she needed it for passed.
