most parents aren’t aware of the fact that these kids pick things up as little as 4years old, thinking the child doesn’t know anything yet.

Or better still they should only engage in adult activities whenever the kid is not at home, it's shocking that some parents "do it" in the presence of their kids.

The question is what kind of conversation are you having with an eight ( 8 ) year old girl that you got so much lurid details from her?
Are you the child's doctor, teacher, nurse or what? Even at that age, children should have conversation with their parents present with any health professional.
If you are a extended family member of the child, you shouldn't even have such conversation with her, and you share it online with strangers. The person with the problem is not her parents or even the child. Look in the mirror and see the person who needs HELP

I was looking for this comment, and when i didnt see it in the first 5 comments i concluded that Nigeria is lost.

Oga stop arguing with people. Most of those guys arguing are not married hence they say what is normal but not practicable. I stay in a 3 bedroom with two kids but I stay in the same room with my kids. I also used to have the same mindset that the kids should stay in their room but reality made me change my mind. Most kids less than 10 are always afraid of the dark and knowing the kind of country where we do not have light, if you can always attend to the kids when they need you Goodluck. But if experience teaches them a lesson then they also learn from it. I've seen a situation where robbers broke into a flat and entered through the children's room while the parents escaped through the ceiling and called for help. Sometimes your children needs you, they keep shouting and crying while you are fast asleep and have locked your door. If you can cope with keeping kids in a separate room, fine. If not don't criticize those that do. Those saying "install CCTV in the children's room", I want to ask if the CCTV will not use power. Do we have constant power to achieve that feat?

This is reason why I am looking for money to rent a better accomodation.Children need to be on their own.cost of renting a decent house is a big problem for salary earners,most especially when it is not enough.Life is really really not fair.

We should all just pray for God to uplift and provide for everyone, its not fault of most of those parents but nah money cause am.The cost of bigger accommodation in most cities is crazy and barely affordable for many.

However parents need to be more circumspect by ensuring kids are not around when they want to get busy....back then I had this neighbors who anytime u see their kids at our place it means mum and dad are busy inside and the kids will innocently tell you their parents will beat them if they go to knock on their door

Back in the days we stay in one room at temidire street in olodi apapa area of Lagos with my mum,dad, 5 siblings n an aunt....we even lived happily and no one even get time to talk of Wetin we see or Wetin happen in d nite.

If you don't have enough money, use condoms or other cconteacpetives with your wife. Don't bring children into the world to suffer and corrupt them too early. It's a choice here for those who are saying they didn't have a choice.

Even 2 year old child is not old enough to have a room lol.


I am happily married and living in a massive house, and I can categorically tell you that I and my 2yrplus son sleep on the same bed. A 14 year old relative living with us even gets scared sleeping alone in her room talk more of a 2 year old.


My son that always wake up every 3 to 5 hrs to call "daaaddy" to ensure I am still close by, is it the person you want to assign a room to to sleep alone at night ?



Many people are not just realistic online. No caring or loving father or mother would allow his or her 2yr old child sleep in one room all alone at night. Maybe Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk can do it, but I doubt any Nigerian parent will cool

I wish Pa Jakande had that chance to actualize his housing revolution in Lagos, by now, housing problem would have been a thing of the past. He did his best, died without owning a single helicopter undecided May his soul continue to RIP. We miss him so much!

This man built the largest housing estate in Africa in lagos in his time without borrowing and completed it in less than 4 years as planned, before Buhari's coup stopped him. Most of the lands earmarked for housing today had been sold and acquired by Emilokan and his goons. I remember where the current ikeja mall is sitting on today. It's well!
