Passed my driving test today and was a first timer. Took so long because I was on and off with learning.
Helpful tip for anyone would be just get started with lessons and plan to get your license soon, that’s definitely saving you loads of money.
And it’s really hard to get a date now and an advice on this would just be to login to the site on Monday by 6am as that’s when new dates gets released and afterwards, you can just use this app I use to get an early date. Just select the dates you want and turn on autobooking. This app took me from Jan 2023 to early October 2022.
Thanks lexusgs430 I remember you replied on hours to get started with a few years back.
Congrats!
First time driving?

How many hours did you take to practice with a tutor?

I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with not paying a tutor since I have several years of driving experience cheesy

Hello guys,
I just registered with Mashmallow insurance with my Nigerian Drivers license. I indicated that I have driven for 4 years and no claims before coming to the UK. Now the vehicle insurance is requesting for a "Proof of your No claims discount". How do I go about this?
Your kind advice is needed. Thanks

First time driving?? Yes.
I honestly can’t remember how many hours.
But I was on and off with the lessons. Maybe about 50hrs.
In my opinion, I believe finding the right instructor does help a lot.
I changed my old instructor because I was learning a whole lot from YouTube than I was with him. He just sits without making comments et all.
We just drive around the same place everytime and I’m quite sure that’s not the test route.
Switched to this new instructor and dude was very verbal, he tracks all his students test route and make me try them out as well.
Students pass every week as well.
Instructors does work but if you’re not learning anything then just change instructors. £30/hr is a lot to waste if anyone is not learning.

I passed my test with 20hrs of tutoring with an instructor.

I will advise you use a tutor, forget naija driving experience. Apart from passing driving tests, it will help your general driving.

You have to be extremely careful bro/sis.
The west is designed not to favour black people.
Worst case ,she will keep an eye out and wait for you to make another mistake before she invites safe guarding(worst case )
Be very very loving to your kids.
To be honest they are the only ones that can say,I love my daddy and the wicked staff would back off

You people are too quick to make everything about race. You no dey tire?

Better change this persecution mindset before you begin to suffer from medical-grade paranoia.

Be smart when you think and type,The deceit of Free health care (that you pay heavily for) ,good road,mc Donald’s burger ,and your 8hrs slavery job has made you feel like you are part of them.Wake up !!!!!!
Race will forever be an issue, except for the fact that you might be a JJc so, ko ti ri kan kan.
The exact issue a white man will get away with,a black man may never get away with. How long have you lived abroad??Wake up!!!!!
Have you walked down a street and you see how some cross over to avoid you in 2022

What do you know about how this system works ?
You are obviously still in the illusion of being abroad,so you can’t see past the Aldi and Lidl chicken you eat.
When push comes to shove,we are just minorities, even with the red passport ,we are least rated.

Come and tell me race doesn’t matter in 5years and I spare you some time.

You are just less than a year in the UK and you have all these in your head? A bit of open mindedness will go a long way.

If we keep walking around with race card on our back pocket it will be difficult to deal with actual racist situation

You may have experienced various sorts of negetivities, but you should not malign the whole country. Your experiences should be handled on an issue by issue basis.

You still don’t get it.
I never said there are no good jobs or black People don’t excel .I personally got here through LinkedIn.

But you can’t change the fact that there is a distinct divide between all races and we are the least on that ladder.
