The reason why lecturers are demanding a better welfare is because they are under paid. Government owned schools are not completely free. Allow state government to manage tertiary institutions within their domain. ASUU should be decentralised.
Each state government should be accountable.

how will the poor citizens now be able to cope with school fees in the state owned universities?

Trade union laws forbids it.Guy trade Union is seriously backed by law.A government cannot register another trade union to do exactly the same thing another is responsibe for.Neither can a government order a trade union to resume work or be fired.

FG is basically saying that everybody should go and form their own union, from Law academics, to Engineering academics and so on..

FG will still complain when all these unions come out and demand for a specific welfare tailored to their own needs.

In the End, it is the federal universities that will suffer..

NLC is an umbrella labour union/organisation. The TUC is a union representing civil servants.

TUC, ASUU, and many other unions are NLC affilates.

Members of the private sector are in TUC

ASUU has submitted the report. It's constitutional to appeal a judgement. So contempt of the court cannot work here. Ngige is really frustrated.
