And in your almighty wisdom, that works in Nigeria right?

A government that refuses to succumb to pressures by strikes, refuses to obey the agreement they signed to, refuses to be pressured by election campaigns, that government will now be benevolent to ASUU members when ASUU members forcefully resume from the strike by obeying court order?

The Nigerian government is just making things more difficult for Nigeria and creating a generational intellectual gap.

Registering new academic unions won't work, it's just a tactic to pressure ASUU the more. You think this government is more tyrannical than Abacha's?

The thing pain this Emeka. grin grin

Fvck ASUU. Nigerians are solidly behind FG.

Many are in denial. They are either ignorant, or saboteurs or self serving. Any member of that association that came through the backdoor will forever live in shame. I travelled recently and I met two academics on board relocating. Aside pay review, which was last done over thirteen years ago, no other request will go to any lecturer's pocket. Do we not know that truly they have no tools to teach with? We deserve the government we have.

A just cause that has kept students at home for 8 months?

Ok, let them call off the strike and same issues continue to linger... happy now?

Going to strike with the hope of using election pressure to force government into succumbing to their needs is enough display of lack of wisdom considering that the current president is not contesting for the election. Why couldn't ASUU strike at a time Buhari was contesting in 2019? Let me inform you that if Buhari decides to do anything for ASUU now, it can never be as a result of any campaign pressure.

Don’t forget the court order.

Return to classes while negotiations continue. Did they obey the court order?

Weaponizing hunger is one of the reasons Nigeria and the black race will remain backwards and underdeveloped, the govt clearly knows the tool they want to use to weaken the resolve of the hungry folks amongst ASUU members, I dare say they are just very foolish and stupid to fall for such, they want to enjoy temporarily and suffer permanently.

ASUU remains the group to beat and they are fighting a just cause
ASUU remains the group to beat indeed. On no account is any union whatsoever allowed to be too stronger than the government, not even in the developed worlds. So Enjoy this little braggadocio relevance left while it last.

all the comments against ASUU are Fulani herdsmen Cows, they never see anything good in education so they are rejoicing, now tell me, How do you want buhari who never been to University, even waec result sef he no get. Forget about them
See ur foolishness cannot be measured, it has an infinity number. We are discussing sensible things here and u just open ur mouth or raise ur hand and type rubbish. If buhari did not go to university, what about all the ministers, did all of them too did not go to university. Stop behaving like an animal and try to find something meaningful to do with ur life. Infact I don’t think u pass thru the four walls of the university.

This man is just fooling himself...... Does he really think ASUU will remain strong Just recently I saw one of my lecturers, a Dr for that matter he was a taxi driver(I did not say bolt oo), will such choose to remain with ASUU??..

See hunger is a very powerful weapon, and this evil govt will do all they can to utilize it, like I said before, in war you should know when to retreat, it's not weakness, ASUU should have done that after that last round of discussions in August before they went indefinite....

When the govt ordered the schools to reopen about last week, ASUU said schools can reopen but it's members are on strike, now another association in Conua has been created, just watch the massive exodus that will happen from ASUU to Conua if they refuse to call of their strike....

This govt is evil and wicked, I just hope the discussion of the speaker with Buhari will yield positive results...
being tough is not wickedness or evil. ASUU need to be taught a serious and decisive lesson. How many years since they've been doing this shenanigans?

those lecturers will lose noting cos there are jobs waiting for them in any country of their choice

LoL who told you that?? With their old outdated syllabus how will they cope, how many actually genuinely carry out research?? Most of the books this lecturers have are mostly copy and paste from the internet, only a few are exceptions .... If it was that easy most will have done that already, besides remember their families and friends are all here it's not even mentally easy leaving....

If e red, what we'll most likely see is a swift migration from ASUU to Conua, that will be more than them traveling out...

You are right but with the situation of things how many will stand strong, Sir do you know what it means to go 8months without salaries and you have a family to Carter for Their fight is just but the consequences of their actions are just too dire, students have been at home for 8months, beyond the schooling house rents have been wasted as well....

I agree in a struggle some sacrifices have to be made but it's so unfortunate ASUU have refused to make sacrifices from their own end, they are still fighting for 8months Salary they did not work for, who then will pay students for wasted time....

Even the govt has lost/will lose something in the sense that this is a huge disadvantage to their campaigns and chances of being reelected (APC)..

But ASUU are still fighting over ippis and utas, it makes me wonder, are you thee one to dictate how your employers will pay you??

The best thing would have been to obey court order and return to class while negotiation continues.

and you believe this government will agree to honor their part of the negotiations

Lol, funny thing is what is the strength of the new union? Very soon they will be parallel strikes in university. ASUU being on strike means many schools cannot still function effectively. The right thing to do is to dialogue, the Speaker of the HOR already sent a report to Buhari, why not follow up?

The whole court thing, what did it amount to? A parallel union will still not amount to anything. Just do what is right. It is that simple. Honestly, we have very very daft people in APC steering the affairs of this country and we must vote them out in 2023.

What happened to all the school fees, levies etc. We all went to school, we know universities generate money and get outside donations etc, where are the money?
