Anyone please...

Omoluv5:
Thanks so much for your input, from my research, Royal airmaroc seem to be the only airline allowing minimum age 2 to travel unaccompanied, though they won't allow kids travel alone on a dependents visa without the main applicant since it is one of the visa requirements. I, being the main applicant will go get them. I appreciate you!

Meanwhile, will it be an issue if the POF is left in my husband's account? We used his account to process our visas when both of us applied in July,
or should we move it to mine since I will have to go for the kids? Will a consent letter from him suffice?

Sorry for the many questions please...

Anyone living in Stoke-on-Trent or studying in Staffordshire University? Please I will need your advice regarding the school and the city. Have been getting so many not-so-good feedbacks about the city. I got unconditional offer to Staffordshire University and I'm contemplating living in a neighbouring town.

hello people. please i need some answers. when we first got into the uk, we paid our rent 6 months upfront and signed a 6 months tenancy agreement. its one and half month to its expiration and our agent is asking for another upfront payment or we meet the earning criteria for renting the house. My hubby got a job that meets the criteria but would resume within this month, we communicated this to the agent and they are saying we wouldn't pass the referencing because he would still be on probationary period, mind you it is a permanent job that meets the earning criteria. Are they correct? They are now asking for a uk guarantor which we don't have. please does anyone know how we can handle this situation? is there anyway we can rent a guarantor? or should we insist that they go ahead with the referencing when my hubby resumes. i am really confused as we don't have 6 months upfront to pay again and we have no guarantor.

They are just being smart by half with that probationary excuse after knocking off their initial excuse of earning criteria.
NOTE Provide evidence that your hubby won’t be on probation when he resumes, they will still come up with something else

All they want is 6 months upfront

Alternatively, look elsewhere to rent since you now have a rent history

Should you go ahead with the referencing, dem go ‘chop’ your money (holding fee) when you fail referencing

Yes, they do rent guarantor and it’s totally legal. Google will be a good guide should you decide to rent one

I know someone who had to paid rent for a full year in advance to get a flat. Almost £15k paid upfront for some dingy apartment. International students are being massively exploited, unfortunately, not everyone might get to reap the rewards after the huge expense.

Such individuals are only feeding their greedy appetite when they pay such money.
The individual was not properly advised or just acting like a ‘money-miss-Road’. No insult intended please.
In some areas, that’s mortgage deposit faa!!

They already have their visas issued so I don’t see any issue except at the POE (point of entry) where you might be required to access maintenance fund directly on your mobile banking app.
So, any of the parent’s account should do since you guys both wrote UKVI a financial consent letter.

Regular embassy customer cum travellers know that experiences ‘yapa’ in visa processes. Better be prepared than not

The burden of proof is on the potential visa applicant. In other words, you are required to prove your case with all what you ve got

In this day n age of fake documents, providing or not providing all document evidence isn’t a guarantee for a visa but better to provide than not provide to save yourself the stress, financial and time costs involved in the process.

with the negative reputations 9ja has garnered over the years, we have been conditioned to go the extra mile to prove our cases - reason they treat the green pali differently @ airports

Holding fee ke?
If I have paid the rent, the house is mine for that period I paid for. Why pay holding fee for my house. Except after contract expiration the landlord refuse to collect the one month rent in which case they should keep staying till they get another place.

Is it legal to just boot someone out after contract expiration if the person was will to continue on a monthly rolling basis?

Will they tell the court that they are looking for 6 months upfront hence the quit notice?

Get your new phone from 9ja while ensuring it’s the latest in terms of specifications.
Ensure a very laaaaarge memory space, you ll need it later.
Familiarise yourself to your map b4 you land UK

Out of curiousity, what's the large space for?

I thought I should share my experience on "no recourse to public funds". I happen to be in the tech field with no much years of experience and decided to opt in for a bootcamp to brush up my skills as it offers internship after graduation. I went through the process and passed. However on offer, I was told that the bootcamp was sponsored by the "department of xxxxxx UK"... And since I was on student visa, I have no recourse to public funds which included this sponsorship by one of the govt. departments... Hence, would affect any other applications in the future. It made me to go back and had a good read about this public funds

It thought me a lesson, in as much as I am looking to fit myself into the society, their rules are their rules and sometimes you unintentionally go against it like this one. We also want to ask as such questions as possible and be open as well. I still remain grateful to the lady that pointed it out to me because I would enrolled without knowing that I had gone against my visa rules.

You are talking from your secure housing...wait until you are in that position where you are homeless in foreign, cold (literally) and unfriendly land and have no other hope of getting approved to rent any place including one room..

Lexusgs430 Ticha and other OGs

I have one question

If I buy a house in the UK and then I want to move to another country, can I rent out the house and keep collecting rent on it while I'm away?
Do I have to pay any additional tariff just so I can turn it to a property I want to let?

This is assuming I do not have a British passport yet but I still pay mortgage on it.

In addition to Ticha’s detailed explanation, rental income from your UK property will be subject to income tax even if you are no longer resident in UK. You will need to do a yearly self assessment to cover this and if you do decide to sell it while still abroad, it will also be subject to CGT if the value has appreciated significantly.

Hello everyone!
Please is it advisable to bring kids 7,5&3 from Nigeria to the UK with the unaccompanied minor flight ticket plan? They're coming to join I and my spouse on a dependents visa, I and spouse came in 2months ago, I'm the student, we're trying to cut down on travelling cost...

Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated, thanks as you share.

Have you checked the airline’s conditions for unaccompanied minor ticket? Most times it’s restricted to kids that are 12 years and above.

Income tax? Why??!

Irrespective of whether you live in the UK or not, any income received in the UK is subject to UK income tax, this includes property income. Please speak to an accountant regarding the non-resident landlord scheme if you wish to pursue this route.

You can keep the property if it’s likely you will return to the UK after your various Waka. Otherwise it might be best to sell it before your departure.

What's the longest visiting visa duration one can get?

Seems they give 5 - 10 yrs in the US (not sure but I think it's for seniors mostly)

6 months, 2 years, 5 years and 10 years but you can't stay longer than 6 months at a time

The bolded is what will happen. And I’m sure they will still knock his referencing off with one excuse or the other.
All in all, 6 months upfront is what they are after

Imagine presenting a UK guarantor who’s a
Citizen
Home owner
And a professional employed by a government agency
And they still fault the referencing.

If dem no wan give you dem go gather impediments put for your front by all means

Uk have only like samsung, iPhone and maybe one or two other makers so not a lot of options.... if you are looking for just something to use, there is one £120 ish samsung with 64gb that is ok to use

Uk has far more than that, there are really good mid-range phones out there that can challenge house-hold names like iPhone and Samsung

Check Oneplus phones, Oppo, poco, xiaomi and the latest one called Nothing phone 1, these phones are all android and pretty good
