i have an undergraduate admission from manitoba for january 23, can i still apply via the new portal?
i concern about the time of resumption?
Hi Msbaileyz,

Either of the portals can be employed for the submission of your application. Regarding the timeframe, no one can assuredly tell which is faster at this time.

Hi please how does putting the lump sum in fixed deposit help and what reasons could I possibly give for lump sum in my sponsors account

Hello Annidenobeh,

Locking a certain amount of funds in a verifiable and acceptable account gives assurance to the officer of demonstrating the availability of the funds when due. Before deciding to fix the funds, ensure to understand how and/or if it would help the application's competitiveness. The liquidation period of the funds must be at least one month before class resumption. A lump sum can be justified by providing sufficient evidence of:

• Property sales
• Debt or loan repayment
• Gift
• Grant
• Inheritance
• Return on investment
• Savings or contributions
• Contracts
• Financial support (from membership associations, organizations, friends, family, etc.)
• Compensation funds
• etc

Hello everyone,

I am trying to apply for a diploma program..and the requirement is SSCE or its equivalent ..does it mean I can apply for the program even though I already have a bachelors degree?

PS: I am aware of the PGD/PGC programs

Thank you all.

@frankrobbn
@justmellow
@makano
@anon
@technix

Hello KRTL,

The paramountcy of showing study progression is strictly a consideration when it concerns immigration. Typically, progressive education is settling to study at a level higher than the previous. This is not usually the case sometimes, as a student with higher academic exposure can likewise consider studying at a lower level due to so many reasons that should be clearly outlined and justified accordingly.

Giving convincing reasons will help the officer analyze the intent and significance of the study toward the student's developmental and/or career advancement. If the officer can be guided to understand the study progression in such a selected program, then proceed to apply for the study permit otherwise, the program should be changed to one that is appropriately demonstrating progression.

Please, I was single as at when I submitted my application in July, but I got married last month. I am yet to get a response from IRCC. Do I need to inform them about my new marital status while sending my web form to them?

Kindly advise accordingly.

seems like this canada study visa is easy compared to dutchland.

please Gurus i’m a newbie on this thread tho i’ve read some of the previous thread regarding canada travel, i need some clarification to satisfy my curiosity.

i intend to apply for fall admission 2023, what’s the possibility of applying for an undergraduate study in computer science or related field with my ND cert in civil engineering? and also i’m into frontend development, will this act as an advantage on my SOP?

@Justmellow @peacelovejoy @joedave25

Hello Peanutbutterr,

With an ND, a Bachelor's study is a right and progressive academic path. It is your responsibility to show the availability of funds through a reliable and stable income source(s).

Given the high cost of a First degree in Canada, it will be wise to present an income source(s) that is sufficient. Having useful information to piece together is always an advantage when writing an SOP. Use it to expatiate your study intent, background exposure, study components, etc. as well as any discrepancies in your application.

Yea, GCMS notes have been taking time lately. I applied for mine on June 14th and got the notes on September 28 (106 days). My notes seems to have been generated on August 8th but was sent on September 28th. I used JustForCanada and yes, a friend who used them last year, got his notes in 45 days. It seems IRCC have been having backlogs of GCMS application since June (JustForCanada told me that in one of their responses to my mail). After 45 days of applying for my notes, I started bombarding JustForCanada with mails every week. So, if your GCMS notes is taking long, know that you are not alone.

Meanwhile, the assessment on my notes says "Recommend Interview". I applied for my SP on March 9th. The wait is really painful and frustrating...sad I have deferred to January start....hopefully I get a final decision before then.

I sent mails to MPs in Toronto and Ontario, but all said they can't help cause I am not in Canada. Please, does anyone know an MP in Ontario that helps? I will really appreciate.

At some point and even now, I have to advice myself to take my mind off this delay stuff and focus on my life.

How many pages was your note please

Hello SoftdudeKay,

If you intend for your spouse to join you and if you didn't declare being in a common-law relationship at the time of submission, it will be wise to inform IRCC by attaching the necessary evidence like the wedding invitation, marriage certificate, change of name (if done already), photos, etc.

If you notify IRCC after the application has been approved, the assessment of the authenticity of the union might pass through rigorous scrutiny. Though not like that which is conducted for the Express Entry system.

i think what you are asking is how are you going to proove source of funds....

there are flags you need to address.

- you have more than enough money for the study venture. good. but from where did the money come.
- funds is fixed in a joint account between you and your dad. who earned the money? did your dad fix it with you as a co-owner of what is the structure of the joint funds investment like?
- your dad do not have a good paying job with bank statement. this totally contradicts your first submission. so it is safe to assume that you are the primary owner of the fixed investment funds. so how and why do your dad come in?
- cycle back to the notification that you are a recent school leaver. how did you come about the said funds and again, why is your dad a co-owner?
- if you have the funds fixed and available right now... why are you not progressing with your visa application

Your dad cannot sponsor you, you cannot proove source of funds (i assume), do you have digital assets, or how did you really come about the funds.

The above as salient issues that needs to be addressed.

i will reply you private email, perhaps you have information that you cannot give here. however, i will analyse your submissions further and give recommendations as best as i can. however, i will come back here and use it as a case study for lessons learned.

ciao

I'll await your Response
