Even if he should leave in January the club must demand a reasonable fee from whoever is signing him. If they can't pay let them fvck off, we no be father Christmas.

It’s not as if the Ronaldo didn’t want to go. He was hawked all over Europe last summer but no serious team wanted to sign him.

Dem for don allow am go City. Maybe Pep will continue to play him if he doesn’t join the coordinated press. Maybe Pep will be fine with him leaving the stadium in annoyance because he was benched.
Ronaldo is just in denial that he's no longer that guy. He's biggest mistake is leaving Madrid and burning the bridge there. Imagine announcing he leaving a day after the club won a CL because you're Ronaldo.
Make I chill so e no go be like say na me dey vex pass.

YES.

Don't punch yourself, then start crying.

Everyone who has followed European football for more than one season knew keeping Ronaldo when he wouldn't be a starter was a bad idea. EVERYONE knew. The man clearly wanted to leave. But the club and fans wanted a kick out of keeping him as a backup option. Well, this is the result.

Terminate his contract and let him leave. To him, being a starter for Marseille or Napoli beats warming up at 80 minutes to be substituted at Old Trafford for a winger posing as a striker. Whether you think that is reasonable is immaterial.

He is not Van de Beek.

I really hope he is frozen out of the squad. World Cup is next month. Then January he leaves.

Dude does not want to spend the twilight of his career on a bench. I don't know how else he has to show that before you guys get a hint. One-third of the season is almost gone and he has only scored one league goal. Yet you want him to be clapping and cheering like a seal in the stands when just six months ago he was banging goals. And he isn't getting play time when his last World Cup is literally two weeks out.

Play Europa League. Okay.
You're my third choice striker after Martial and Rashford. Okay.
We will not extend your contract. Okay.
I'll mostly use you as a substitute. Okay.
You'll have to run more. Okay.

Now, substitute na. Problem. Allow him to finish a rare start against Newcastle. Problem. Ease him into the team. Problem. Later when the team starts playing badly, you'll force him in and start expecting miracles. Dude is saying he's had enough. If you've had enough as well, let him go. Shikena! Life goes on.

-Lord
Give them the money to use to terminate his contract then since nobody wants to buy him or he should buy himself out with his own money. Dead manyoo didn't get him on a free transfer.

Loyalty never pays, CR7 should have joined Man City. All these nonsense wouldn’t have been happening..

But he decides to be loyal to these bums. Messi kept dozens of consecutive clean sheets but he didn’t get these kind of treatment from PSG.

Forget long shalaye, United will never terminate his contract just like that. We bought him for a fee, he's a vital part of the club's asset. No reasonable business enterprise that is well run will reason like that.

He's under contract ffs, if he so wants to leave let him buy out his contract, it's that simple. United owns him, he doesn't own United.

Then all the disciplinary talk is noise.

Own him or not, he's collecting 400K a week, and just dared the Board and coach to not play him ever again until he leaves for free in the summer. ETH has shown he wouldn't rotate a winning team, so its not like he had much playing time to look forward to anyway.

It's interesting that you guys call out his destructive ego, but here you are wanting to pay 400K/week for 8 months just to stick it to a guy who is apparently not in the coach's plans. Is that not a destructive ego?

ChristoBam:

Starter for Napoli is the funniest thing here. Y'all still delusional for real. That image of prime Ronaldo will never let you see what's in front of you.

Oya let him leave to go find out himself. Shouldn't be difficult.

True. Very stupid decision in retrospect.

It'd have been much better sitting on the bench for Haaland than for Rashford in the UCL.

He would have won a trophy and the golden boot with Guardiola.

Zidane benched Ronaldo. Mourinho made prime Ronaldo press.

Even if they had fought with fists during pre-season, his record for 1 year with Guardiola would conveniently beat spending 3 years under ETH.

This is a classic case of see finish. Eto fought with Guardiola, still Africa's greatest striker. Aguero fought Guardiola, still a phenom.

My problem is not even about him being benched or subbing in Elanga. My issue is telling him to warm up just so he'll play then tell him to go sit down while putting another player.

This is someone who loves to play no matter what and have already made that peace that he won't start every match. Now, tempting him with warmup that he'll play only not to play is a big dent in such a person's ego esp in this scenario. It would have been better if he wasn't told at all or if he was told to warm up and Tottenham put in one goal which now forces Ten Haag decision to put in a defender to protect the lead.

Normal players won't see anything big in that but ego players with achievements like Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic et al will always always throw a fit if such happens.

Sometimes, there are different ways to go about different people

When next you're watching a match, pay attention to the sidelines and see many players warning up at different times. at the end of the day only 5 at most would feature out of all those warming up...... it's normal for a coach to tell you to warm up because he probably saw some tactical changes he wants to use you for then change his mind later as football is not a stationary sport. he might realise what he wanted to use you for is no longer needed or the opposition had already seen it coming.

all these excusing Ronaldo's tantrum is hilarious lol. there's no logical way of going about it. if he feels his ego is too much then maybe pay his contract out or something. Also you mentioned Ibra lol. same Ibra that when he realised his penalties aren't as good as it used to be he stopped playing them and gave them to guys like Kessie instead but what does Ronaldo do when he realised his freekick prowess had left him? hog every freekick and keep hitting them into walls and expect something else to happen lol.

There's a 25 percent decrease in salary for failing to qualify for CL and I believe the club is fining his ass for undermining the manager and disrespecting the club.

Get your facts right. He was asked to come on but he refused. The coach then turned to Elanga. That was way before the 89th minute.

Use Google. Ronaldo played more matches and minutes per season at Juventus than he did during his last year with Zidane. Zidane even had him forfeit the Pichichi race to concentrate on the UCL.

The 25% applies to everyone. Fine him or not. It'll be insignificant compared to his annual salary.

As I said, the faux disciplinary issue is noise. Dude has earned $1b over his entire career, and you think a fine will faze him. Last, last they'll be forced to let him go. The question is when. $15m or so is not Manchester United's problem.

Misbehaving as per they have two Ballon D’Ors to their name or what?

None of the players on that pitch will achieve what Ronaldo has achieved (and this is based on the average player’s football career trajectory). Stop putting them in the same category.

You’re approaching this as if they’re all SS3 students on the same level.

If the coach and the club does not put their foot down there would be chaos. this is exactly how it starts and they don't have to achieve what he's achieved to start misbehaving. You think only Ronaldo has gigantic ego? wait till other players who have kept theirs in check start showing theirs.... what do you think makes players stop respecting coaches? 1,2,3,9,15 and before you know it the team starts putting less and less efforts and coach gets sacked. team then starts performing well again.
