Who is initiating the Termination? Ronaldo or United
Is the party initiating ready to compensate the other party?
What does the original contract say about Termination and compensation?

Buying yourself out of a contract is only convenient when you have a suitor ready to absorb you.
Again, what does the terms of the original contract say about this?
There are contracts with clauses about not working for rivals immediately after disengagement.

This is the issue. If he looks uninterested and all that, why then is he angry or kicking up a fuss when the coach benches him. He still wants to coach to be starting him as uninterested as he looks?

As for the players, Ronaldo does not give a sh*t.

As for the fans, most want him gone. So I'm not sure what the threat of "not being seen as a villain" comes in.

That is where the likes of myself, eph, nitro.gen, patrick are saying his contract should be terminated and allowed to leave in January. Then buy a striker in the January transfer window. Or you freeze him out completely and tell ETH any result is okay if you're not getting him a striker.
