In Worship and praises through prayers, you are thanking God for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He is going to do.
So both worship, praises, and prayers go together.
The Bible said in Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Is it in our power to know if we are closer to God or not? I've always believed that it's God who knows who is close to Him & not vice versa. Our own job is not to deliberate on how we feel about being closer to Him or not (since our feelings lie to us) but rather to obey His commandments (which is more valuable than our offerings of prayer, praise and worship)

Christianity is not a religion but a lifestyle of God in us & we in Him

Why do you come to religion section to make and post about your lifestyle of God in you and you in him?

They are all the same....prayers, singing, living a good life, dancing etc are all forms of worship.... happy Sunday everyone

Its all good whether praising, worshipping or praying.

I am not sure which one specifically makes me more closer. But i think together in varying degree, they are quite effective.

In addition, i also think understanding brings me closer to God, because with understanding i can pray more properly and praise according to the word itself. I can also meditate accordingly, and grow based on understanding, since faith comes by hearing and understanding.

In a way its more than just regularly doing some activities, its more like knowing a person, or knowing God, which will also transform us as an individual to be more loving, patient, long suffering, kind, have self control, more Joyful and assured.

Its like you can feel, and experience the creator as you draw closer and seek and conscious of who this person is, and its reflects on you and even so, you receive grace and strength.

Both Prayers and praises are actually called WORSHIP.

Worship

Worship brings me closer to the throne of Grace

If i may share, not related to the topic, but i believe its important, even as it ministers to me, and may God help us through his Spirit ( The Spirit of Christ in Us).

Galatians 5:19-26 NKJV
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Our iniquity and unbelieve keep God far from us. Pray Praise and worship, we might do all that and be good at it and think God is closed to us because we're good in worshipping him but our unbelieve and our iniquity still keep God far from us.
