you can work without German. but more opportunities are available if you can speak the language. Many tech positions still require German and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Germany has one of the strongest economies in Europe therefore jobs should not be so scarce for people who are skilled however anyone moving to that country must have a good plan before heading there!

I am 45 years old. I have a wife and two children.

Abort mission. I don't mean to be harsh or anything. But coming to Germany at 45 is a little too late. Then you will leave a wife and kids in Nigeria. That will add to your stress when you get to Germany because you have to be funding them back home.

Then, depending on fast you are, it will take you years to legitimate yiur stay in Germany. All in all, by the time you fully settle in Germany legitimately, you will be well over 50 years old.

I'd advise you to stay back in Nigeria with your family and manage your life.

1.I have heard it many, many times that, Germany is a country for the poor to make it, while the rich are heavily over taxed.

2. Germany is not a scandinavian country that embrace English. You have to understand that, there are language barrier so you as an English dude will have to lay low and do meagar hustles.

3. You have to enter the country legally to have work permit to work and make it.

4. That your friend papa that spent 20 years in germany and came back empty handed should go and deal with his faulty foundation.

5. If you are doing well in Nigeria, just be content here.

Baba na lie. I no fit dey with you for here . You are a sadist

Hi guys,
Wishing everyone a stress free year.

Is there anyone here who is already living & studying with her child in Germany?
Perhaps anyone who knows of such individual?

A colleague needs advice with respect to raising a child while studying and working.

Responses here or via email will be highly appreciated.

I migrated 0n 3.3.2018.

Here is what I can tell you guys. Life has been exceptional beautiful since I moved to Germany. 3 years after I moved to Germany, I got a job in the finance sector, I got my German Citizenship. The trick is doing what 99% of the people dont do. Mingle with German people, learn german to at least C1 level, get rid of your Naija mentality as it doesn't work here. Hone your craft. Invest money in shares, gold. bonds. Dream higher and back it up with actions.

Germany has many untapped opportunities and you will see them if you open your eyes.

Guy easy o! You got German Citizenship in three years, how?
Talk se u marry?

No law in the German immigrations act allows a Non EU member become citizen in 3 years (except by marriage)

Even as a professional with C1 language proficiency you need at least 5 years to acquire citizenship.

Before you come for me kindly quote the section of the Citizen's Act that bestowed you with citizenship in three years.

Wrong as how, plz show me one of them high end jobs that requires masters the way we pain it in Nigeria, I got 3 degrees and I don't earn with any of them rather Im working with my vocational qualifications.

You’re not in skilled job right? A minimum of Bachelor is required, and sometimes a Masters degree is preferred. Come on, check on LinkedIn.

I'm a fluid Engineer.1st n 2nd degree in the UK.my current position was achieved via experience rather than qualifications. There is no way a fresh graduate or master degree holder can do what I do for over 15 years.

Yes I agree, companies prioritize experience, but with a minimum of bachelor degree in a normal scenario.

I asked because I believed if you are in the professional field, you wouldn’t say high end jobs doesn’t require a degree in Germany. My team leader has a PhD, and another lady has a PhD in the team, 80% of the employees have a masters degree and it’s an IT firm.

And again, in Germany experience is prioritized but with a minimum of bachelors degree for high end jobs, except if you have a PhD, then experience in the working field is usually waved.

Ask very well those people never got the job with even 1st degree. As things start we have gone for graduate programs and masters training programs to make U i attractive.I did mechanical Enginering but this was not a requirement when I started.

I don’t understand a thing you said there. The argument is, I countered your statement of you claiming you wouldn’t need a minimum of bachelor degree for high end jobs, which is false. And I just checked, others did too.

What do you mean I should ask those people? Are you saying they got the jobs without having any degree? I still don’t get you.

Hello guys, i have a degree in engineering from Russia. Been in Nigeria for a while but unfortunately, the system hasn't favored me. I intend moving to Germany for greener pastures. I am married with 2 kids. Please What do you advice?
Re: Life In Germany: What Is It Like For Nigerians Who Migrated? by mamawa123: 10:14am On Feb 02, 2022
Because a man failed to take his wife and kids to live with him over there in Germany doesn’t mean he is suffering in Germany. His decision might be a personal reason to him. I see some fathers in Nigeria who failed to take care of there wives and kids despite that they have the means.

Also, because your friend said no when you asked for something from him doesn’t mean your friend is not enjoying his life in Germany. Your friend is very smart for letting you know that he is not Father Christmas.

Going abroad (Germany or any of the advanced countries) doesn’t make one rich. It only makes you enjoy the basic amenities of life. You have access to those things that only the rich have access to in Nigeria.

First of all, SIT DOWN LET ME SCHOOL YOU:

First of all, I am a girl. I married a German citizen, which made me qualify for the citizenship. The thing you might not know, is that you can apply for the citizenship after 2yrs and 6 months if you meet the following criteria :
1. You don't have any criminal record
2. You are married to a German citizen
3. You have a job that pays you a minimum of 1490 AFTER TAX.
4. you have been gainfully employed for more than a year.
5. At the time of your application, you are still married to the said German citizen.

Research and research but if you want me to school you the more, then let me know. ( I might not have the time though)

I know you will also doubt it, if I tell you that I published a book in German a year after moving to Germany (it's available on amazon, by the way).

And your brain go scatter if I tell you how much I earn at 31.

My brother Germany is a good country, no racism like other European countries. Succeeding there or Anywhere depends on your contact ( follow who know road) and grace. You can run street, do legit work or business. It's not a country that people will tell you there is no work. I have seen someone that have lived in Spain for 15years, still no apartment of his own ( still squatting with friends) but when he managed to help his younger one to come over: after like 2 years the younger one rented an apartment for him.

You have said it all
Follow who know road, you will enjoy Europe
