Do you mean University of Alabama Securtiy Background check for all Graduate Assistanstship offer's holders. If yes then, I have submitted mine too.

You got fully funded PhD at the University of Alabama?

I applied to University of Alabama PhD Fall 2023, hoping to get admission and funding by God's grace. smiley

Please someone experienced should kindly advice me on what to do please please please

I applied for emergency appointment this earlier October and was denied and my program is starting on 10th January so I guessed is because its more than the 60 days requirement for the application, so right now application for emergency appointment is no longer showing in my portal.
My question is , is it possible to apply for emergency appointment twice?
Will I still have the opportunity to apply once is within 60 days to the start of my program.
Or should I fill another DS-160 form then pay for another visa fee and re-apply?

Please advice me on way forward thanks in advance

I was just wondering, is Lagos offering emergency appointments? Also how do I apply for them. I checked the website but the link to the EA form is broken or do I just send an email? How did you go about it. Thanks!

Good afternoon, please I applied for EA because I was given an appointment date for September 2023 but was denied and my school is to resume on the 12th of January, 2023. The reason being that they cannot accommodate emergency appointments at this time. I’m guessing it’s because of this entire Red alert thing. I applied to the embassy in Abuja. School I cancel my appointment and request for Lagos How do I go about it? Do I need to pay another visa fee? Please I need help

Ok, I believe, my ogas here can guide you, you might likely need to pay a new MRV fee to use EA option again. Once you are denied that option is gone forever

Please I want to ask if after having your F1 student visa at the embassy and you were approved, do you pay any other fee which is 44,000??

If one is applying for F1 visa with F2. Is it just one visa application fee that is to be paid or F2 visa application fee is a must. Thanks in anticipation for the response
You must pay the same application/visa fee for both F1 and F2.

You don’t have to pay a dime to anybody and American Embassy will never request for a fee after the approval of visa.

My monicker here has been compromised for sometime now. I just managed to retrieve my account.

I have been following your posts here as a guest because our situation is not too different from yours because we want to apply for F1 and F2 visas but the is issue is that we are not presently in Naija. So, i just want to know if there is anyone that can advise us on what to do since our country of residence is different from country of citizenship (Nigeria)

I have seen cases where people are rejected because their country of residence is different from their country of citizenship. A

Pls all advice are welcome. Thanks

I don't know where you saw these, but I wouldn't agree that the cause of their rejections was due to their residency status. Since you guys are lawful residents of that country, you have every right to apply for your US visas in that country. Also, you don't need a permanent residency before you can do that. Just your valid resident permit is enough.

I am actually talking from experience(Germany). Interviews (with VOs) outside Nigeria are not as rigorous/chaotic (they are usually with ease) as compared to those in Nigeria. You just need to show them why you are going to the US and what you are going to do after the completion of your program. The spouse should also be able to convince the VO.

In addition, Europe (just an example) wouldn't raise an eyebrow as to why you are going with your spouse to the US. Their social welfare and how they handle the issue of the family wouldn't let them do that.

Lagos consulate is still open , I don’t know of Abuja , yes there are dates , but it’s in 2023 . You’ll have to hunt for dates lol , and when the start to your program is close you apply for emergency. Hopefully you get a date this year .

I’m scheduled for interview soon, I have my elder brother, a green card holder in the US as my sponsor with enough money on his bank statement, I hope this is not a red flag? I’m sorry if the question sounds stupid because I’ve read transcripts here where people are denied based on their siblings currently in the US

Hello guys, please I need some clarification on this question. Is the Lagos embassy still attending to applicants or are they also shut down like Abuja?
I want to request for Emergency appointment, are they still approving that for lagos embassy applicants ?
