Hello
Someone please advise!!!
Please I'm an RN and a nursing mum with a month-old baby and I just got a job offer with a Trust (NHS Scotland). I have not received COS yet but I am planning to relocate as soon as I get the COS
I would love to travel first then my husband joins me later because of his job.

Should I take my one month son with me or should I leave him behind so that my husband brings him later?

What are the challenges involved in relocating and preparing for the OSCE with a month-old baby?
Will the Trust allow me to stay in the accomodation with my son?
I need guidance please

I am on this thread because the love of my life is a nurse, so I need to understand the pressures she faces in her job and because she like some Nigerian nurses plan to relocate to the US.

But as someone whose mum left her job to take care of her last kid, and who refused to take a job in the UK because she could not go with her kids who were minors. I just had to comment.

I remain ( and believe all my juniors are eternally grateful) to her that she did not abandon us for all the money in the world. Nor did she decide that a lot of money would substitute for parenting presence.

That said, I realize that people decide differently and are motivated differently.

But the bolded is something that I am emotionally invested in.

So that is the background of my comment.

I have adopted the comments of the doctor in the pictures attached as my own.

I wish you the best of luck.

https://www.nairaland.com/7411269/crisis-many-students-state-schools

A sad day for prospective school of nursing finalist students from the three state schools of nursing in Delta state, who converged in Asaba yesterday ahead of their nursing council cbt exam billed to start today November 1, 2022 at the Delta state E library in Asaba

The reason given to the students who were wailing in tears last night just few hours to the commencement of their exam, was that, their ineligibilty to seat for the exam was due to a "technical glitch"

Break down of students across the three schools of nursing are as follows

1. In Agbor School of Nursing Only 6 out of over 80 students were deemed eligible for the exam

2. In warri school of nursing 6 out of over a 100 students were deemed eligible

3. In Eku school of nursing 16 out of over a 100 students were deemed eligible

Such poor figures above show that over 90% of them have their hopes dashed away by the gross incompetence of the Delta state Director of nursing services (DNS) and the principals of the three state schools of nursing (Agbor, Warri and Eku).

These are students that have spent either 3 years or 1 year 6 months as students and have fulfilled all the requirements in order to seat for the Nursing and midwifery Council exam that would of which, if they pass, it would earn them their license to practice as a registered nurse

Please Governor ifeanyi Okowa wade in now and save the faith of these students

My take may be very unconventional, but I would advice you as someone who knows the types of challenges you will face.

Don’t go with your child!!!!!!!

Reasons:
-There is no free child care for you.

-Except you have lots of money to rent your own place and pay for an external person to help out.

-Most day care are more expensive for kids less than 3mths, that’s if you even see any at all.

-Do you really want to leave your 1mth old with people you do not know in the uk??

-You can’t take baby to your osce prep class so you will be highly distracted.

-Your income at this stage will not pay for your living expense and child care.

My advice is to leave the child with the father and have family help you care for the baby by assisting your hubby.

-Write and pass your osce IST before sending for your family

-Or you can choose to wait a little longer in naija and resume on a later date if your employer permits.

-Don’t have mum guilt, it will be hard but just know that it is more difficult on you and hubby than on the baby.

-Breast milk is great but baby will also thrive on formula so don’t let super momma’s guilt trip you.

In the end, do what works best for you and your family.
best Advice, OP take this seriously, the cost of childcare will be 60% or more of your wages.

[quote author=rabola1 post=118360328]What do you need

Everything please. First, I did distance learning for my BNSc. Will this be acceptable for Canada, I have RN and BNSc. If yes, how do I go about the processing? All the information I gathered is confusing.

Someone told me I have to be in Nigeria to start the Canada processing because it needs attention, how true is this as I am currently not in Nigeria.

Thanks

Hi
Please anyone has this similar experience?....
I wrote CBT and passed but up till now the CBT Status on the NMC registration portal is still showing "Outstanding"
What could be the cause and how does one handle this?

Since you have wriiten the CBT and passed, i believe you should complete your application process. I.e : The uploading of police reports and the other necessary documents.

Canadian system is on individual basis. For the nursing pathway, you have to go through NNAS, it will evaluate your work experience, qualifications and education and then compare it to Canadian standard. It doesnt matter if it is distance learning or online as far as you have the transcript, syllabus and curriculum for it.

For immigration, I can talk about the express entry, I dont know abt work permit, maybe odas can be of help

I studied MSc pre-registration adult nursing in the UK and wish to relocate to the US. Does anyone know the best way to go about credential evaluation because of the lack of mental health, genealogy and paediatric theory and practice hours for those of us who studied adult nursing?
I will really appreciate any guidance or assistance.

Hello,
I was given a conditional offer of employment and I just got invited to commence a virtual induction as well as occupational health appointment by a hospital in Scotland.
I have not been given a COS yet or an unconditional offer of employment. I have written to the hospital but no response yet.
Could anyone please advise on what is going on?
What should I do?

I want to ask a question. Assuming you want to pay any of the fees, like CGFNS, Fingerprint, nclex, and you have Naira in your bank account, can you use your naira debit card to pay? And if you do, would it be at the official rate or blackmarket rate?

I'll be writing CBT next week. I already booked. I had a job offer since last month with the NHS Scotland. Hope to relocate by November all things being equal.
Definitely I will consider engaging a child care although I suspect it might be costly but it's better on the long run than leaving my son behind in Nigeria

Congratulations! Pls I need CBT materials for my wife who is a nurse. I think that is the next exam she needs to write after passing IELTS. Pls I need quick response. Thanks.

Please for those of you that used josef silyn & associates to do evaluation, at what point did they deduct money from your account. When the documents got to them or when you submitted your evaluation form? Thank you
