This picture is going viral on social media. It shows a man in a black and white 1940s photo appearing to be speaking on a cell phone.

What makes the photo puzzling is that cellphones weren't invented until 1973 by Motorola but it didn’t go public where
people can actually purchase it for use until 1983.

Anyone have an explanation for it? Manipulated image, perhaps?

3.A transistor radio.(not possible..they did not come in till the 1950's.,)

- that was their style of dressing at that time and sometimes, even now. The reason being the snowy in Northern Hemisphere Pole! From Lennigrad to New York,to Canadian Provinces,is still full of Snow today and they must adopt that dressing styles!

For those who don't know these were called transistor radios and they were used to listen to Short waves same way we use cellphones today. The difference is that there was no mouthpiece and single transmission line or number assigned to an individual for p2p communication.

A bit too early for that...the first transistor radio came out in 1954.

There were hand held radios...but they were a bit bigger and boxy.

Am not concerned specifically about the claim on ground about the use of a cell phone far back in the 40s. But your claim about the picture proving the accuracy of the year using the dress style. studying the foto and dress style it can prove the accuracy of the year to being in the 40s why you can see in the photo some service men(soldiers) in WWII era style military overcoat. Then from my own point of knowledge that photo is edited because the earliest form of mobile phones were cumbersome ,in form of big walkie talkies.It was not untill in our era they were now designed to be sleek and petite and held to the ear. So obviously you can conote some basic facts.

Super serious. Please google or check out Tik Tik videos on it. There are evidences of mud flood and you'd see videos of people of the past world orders. Our known history are not true. Humans before our civilisation were much more intelligent and technologically more advanced. We had flying cars powered by electromagnetic energy. We could actually create portals with technology to astral plane where we go after physical death.

What is advanced about the dressing? This is how people dress in the 1900s. Search for videos of New York in 1920s and see better dressing. Though I agree with you that there is no proof that it's a 1940 picture.
