Hello everyonr, Im new here. My visa for F1 interview got denied. And I need clarity on where I fumbled.
My interview (EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT) was on the 15th of November, 2022, Lagos.

VO: Why are you going to the US/
ME: To pursue my master's (Engineering Operations Management) in Bleep school.

VO: Who is sponsoring you?
ME: My Uncle

VO: What does he do?
ME: HE imports and distributes so, so and so. (I was this brief)

VO: Did you apply to any other school?
ME: yeah, Bleep Business school

VO; Why didn't you go?
ME: The fees were too expensive for me.

VO: What do you do for a living?
ME: I'm a graphic artist (I was being honest)

VO: What does your uncle do again?
ME: HE imports and distributes so, so and so. (I was this brief)

VO: Hands over blue color paper (VISA DENIED)

ME: Asked her what was wrong, she said I should check more on their website

Please how can I fix this? I know I can reapply; what do you advise? I'm to resume in Jan 2023.

Good evening guys

Please someone told me there is a kinda academy where you will be thought how to process student visa, according to him he said the name of the academy is "U.S EMBASSY" and its located in Victoria island Lagos. According to him the fee is 500k for the whole one.

Please can anybody relate to this, and how true is this?

yes it’s called « educationUSA located in Lagos and the Abuja embassy, they’d tutor you on interviews by bringing in a real life consular to explain how to answer questions and stuffs they look out for, they also help with sch choice and educational materials, lastly, enrolling with them doesn’t mean automatic visas, they’d just lead you thru, I’m a past member of the Lagos own, the instructors are very fantastic people.

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by JamesNneoma: 11:58pm On Nov 20, 2022
Good day all, please who knows whether Abuja Embassy has started giving Visa appointments?

Also, I am trying to submit documents for my I-20 and I can fund myself. But I would like to know which is better, Personal Funds or using my sister as my sponsor?

I appreciate your replies, thanks.

I initially wanted to ignore this but decided that it won't help matters. You are literally begging to be ignored because this question is very somehow.

First,No undergraduate program in USA requires GMAT,GRE( to the best of my knowledge). However, Almost all US unis "accept" SAT and ACT ( though they are optional in some)
Secondly, Most(a huge number of schools that have a good portion of Nigerian students) schools in the USA prefer and sometimes only consider TOEFL and Duolingo. However, you can sidestep this by chatting up the Admission Officers and getting a waiver( which is readily granted to Nigerians because we spend at least 4 years learning in English).

So going by your criteria, I literally have as many as 80 schools just in the top 100 of Unis in US ( So you should not have any issues finding undergraduate programs). More important issues/criteria for you should be finance/ financial aid/scholarship for international applicants, your chances of getting admitted based on academic, recommendation letters and extracurricular activities, the timeline for application for schools and finally the possibility of getting visa with any college.

So, use Google today and try as fast as possible to create a list. Use reddit a2c subreddit too.

Blood of Jesus
like please forget about grace but what were you hoping for with those short asf answers i want to cry for u but were you even prepared at all?
like did you even practice
just the first answer you gave sef eh seriously set me off
first thing you will learn about going for the interview is not to give short ass questions
"The fees were too expensive for me"?
since your transcript is filled with "i was being honest" be honest here
when did you get your appointment date and how long did it take you to practice?

sha just see it as delayed and try again please don't repeat this. Join mock session interviews and get all the transcript you can get that relates with what you want to study.

and please the question *why are you going to the US?*
is the simplest question if you Bleep up there that 1strike
dem fit even deny u cause u no even answer the question well

VO: Good morning
I can see you're going to study nursing
Me: yeah! my desire for nursing arouse when I realized that my Twin sister Omolara is a sickle cell anemia patient, I have seen her gone through pain, crisis and challenges with out me having much help to render to her, this made me join a foundation called Sickle cell advocacy management initiative. At the foundation, we create awareness, educate and support sickle cell patients. we also have an insight on how to help the sickle cell patients by encouraging them, advicing them on living healthy and knowing the danger signs. (cuts me off)
VO: Do you have anyone in the US
Me: No
VO: Asked me about my school (I can't really remember how she asked)
Me: out of the three schools that offered me admission, which are Norwich University, University of Indianapolis and Lander University, I chose Lander University because they have an average class size of 22 which will give me a direct access to my professor and this will aid in my study also, Lander has been educating nurses for the past 50years which makes them one of the best (cuts me off)
VO: Who is sponsoring you
Me: My mother Mrs Bleep who works at Bleep as a Bleep. My mother's annual income is 60 million Naira (cuts me off)
VO: Do you have any relative in the US
Me:No
VO: how many siblings do you have?
Me: 2 My twin sister and my younger brother who is here in Lagos in high school
VO: What about your dad?
Me: My dad is in the country, My dad is the CEO of Bleep that deals with Bleep (cuts me off)
VO: issues me a blue paper

Dear Sir/Ma,

I think you did reasonably well with the interview. But, why exactly would you have to lie? If your Dad is in the US, tell them so. They have that information at their disposal. When you approach a VO, they see you as an intending immigrant. Lies will only end up complicating things for you. Try again.

Big ask but considering we’ve had people who helped pay applications fees in the past, I’d go ahead and ask.

I recently applied to a school that listed the GRE as optional. And since I have taken the exam, I decided to self report the score unknowing that if I self report it, I have to send official results to the school before my application can be considered and the application deadline is December 15th. ETS charges $30 to send scores and this is my dream school. I have communicated with a prospective supervisor who encouraged me to apply. I’d appreciate it if someone can help me make the payment. I will provide the login to my ets account.

When applying to US universities, you are asked to list all post-secondary institutions attended, simply list your NCE and BSc, and upload transcripts from both.

Changing the address has no effect on your application. They already did a background search on you before you even went in for the interview. This is why the VO asked you twice if you had a relative in the US. I don't know your reason for denying that your dad is there, but it clearly was not worth it. Now you have made the situation worse and it will be recorded on your file that you were dishonest in your previousinterview. The next time may be harsher with more scrutiny. Better luck next time anyway!
