This was the same poor form Argentina brought to the 2018 edition, wey Croatia wan kill them and they couldn't beat Iceland, it's a matter of time Argentina also will soon start missing World Cup...I'm sure if they were playing an African team with this poor form they will still win... Africans and inferiority complex against so called big team

Anything can still happen, however I do badly want this Saudis to win for me.

I read an article about Argentina yesterday and how they systematically erased almost all the blacks in their country. Till date, I have yet to see an Argentine black player. Look at Brazil and every other country in South America. Anyway.

TheGoodJoe... Please come in and drop a comment about how brave an Al Hilal-dominated Saudi team is balling Stars-Studded Argentina A-Z.

All players from Backwater leagues holding their own against some of the best on the planet.

An Al Hilal Midfield holding their own against a midfield made in Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Benfica and Juventus.

Like I have always said. Football is not about where you play. It is first about what the individual player can do with the ball and his overall quality on the ball.

Pick a truly tactically balanced team without considering who and who plays in the EPL or in La Liga... just select a sound side that is in sync with what we want to achieve in our team plays and play with Bravery and this is the result you will likely get as seen today by Renard's Saudi Arabia.

So far, Argentina 1-2 Al Hilal

And Ighalo plays for this Al Hilal team. Kaaaiiii

Football will humble you. No be by leagues. But una no dey hear word. Una no wan understand.

90% of the time Argentina will beat this Saudi Arabian team. That Saudi Arabia is winning does not mean that we should go pick players just from anywhere and constitute them into our team.

Does Saudi Arabia have the luxury of the players we have? No.

This result is an offset. That is what makes football beautiful but abeg standard has to be maintained. The best are in the best leagues.

No one is saying we should pick players from anywhere. But it is a percentage thing. Around 10 percent of players in obscure leagues are good.
Also even our players in obscure leagues are still decent. Leagues like Spanish, English second division or turkey, Belgium or Greece are still okay.
Thirdly the players in obscure leagues in our team will only be 7 or less. They will mostly be midfielders.
At the end of the day most of the team will be from top leagues. I mean 75 percent will be from top leagues

The message is clear but the ignorants will keep crying.

Pick a more tactically balanced team first before anything else is considered.

Pick a team based on individual attributes and qualities. If you will keep looking at ohhh player A features in the European Super League while Player B plays in the Championship so player A is the obvious choice.... you will only be showing how naive you are in football.

Meanwhile.... Player A is just a brawny midfield workrate merchant. But Player B has what we need in the middle. A cerebral and dominant Midfield operator in the technical and tactical aspects of the middle game.

The Euro clubs always go for power and brawns in African midfielders. That is why our brawny midfielders feature in some of the top 5 leagues. It is only a few that creep into the Top 5 leagues playing as the brains of their team's midfield, example is Iwobi at Everton and Bennacer at Milan. Even Anguissa at Napoli is mix of brains and brawns.

As usual... Keep capping Nonsense while Football keeps proving me right at this World Cup. grin

We move. It is obviously just a few that TRULY WANT THE SUPER EAGLES TO PROGRESS. The rest are just noisemakers.

Nobody pushed this argument yesterday when Iran suffered heavy defeat in the hands of England ooo. This result is an offset, a run against the grain. It does not mean that when you have players, playing in the best leagues, you go looking for heart and pride just about everywhere oo.

In 2002, Germany walloped Saudi 8-0, in 2018 4-0 loss to Russia. In 17 World Cup appearances they have lost 11 times, drawn 5 times and won twice (including today's win)

Please before you use any template make sure it gives you consistent results.

Where the luxury of players when we get ?

I’m not seeing 5 of our players being signed for 35 mill

So where’s the luxury?

You and i know the value of top teams and top players and ours is no top team, we have a handful of good players that’s it.

Don’t make it sound like we’re Senegal or Ivory Coast

We’re washed super eagles and made a name for ourselves true individual brilliance right from time till date we have to philosophy or technical play where we’re strong at.

baba you pick the best you can boast of and if all is in top leagues and clubs they will be the preferred pool to pick from

Argentine league is among top 2 leagues in South America and hv produced top notch players but they rarely make 20% of their national team to global competitions excluding age grade football because the core of their squad plays in top clubs and leagues in europe

If Saudi had the luxury of having players in top European clubs they will never ignore them just to favor those in their local and obscure leagues
