Conte144:
PPR Alert!

2nd time applicant.

1st application was denied based on financial assets. I was very disappointed as I thought my profile and financial history was good enough to get PPR.

My guru @Makano advised we order for GCMS and quickly re-fire. So we ordered for the notes, it came back and we gathered that the VO had issues with lump sum on my account statements.

So we quickly adjusted my SOP and provided explanations plus verifiable receipts for the lump sum, and reapplied again.

As God may have it, application was approved.

My Timeline;
Sep 18th - Application submitted (Biometrics was done on the 22nd of April, 2022 so it updated)
Nov 15th- Eligibility Review
Nov 16th- Medical updated to passed (I did upfront medicals on the 21st of April, 2022)
Nov 16th- PPR

I attached below documents

• Letter of Acceptance.
• Academic and Professional certificates.
• Academic Transcript.
• NYSC certificate.
• Birth Certificate
• Police clearance certificate
• Bio-data page of International Passport
• Drivers' license.
• NIN slip.
• Updated CV
• Staff ID Card.
• Letter of Introduction from my employer.
• Promotion letter.
• Pay slip

CLIENT INFORMATION
• Land Documents (Receipts, Sales Contract, Deed of Assignment, Survey plan)
• Particulars for 2 cars.
• Siblings Birth Certificate and Photos
• CAC document for registered company.

PROOF OF MEANS OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT
• SOP (6 pages).
• Statement of account (Individual and Company) above 20m.
• Salary account Statement.
• Documents showing business presence in Nigeria.

Big shout to all the guys doing great work out here and special shout out to @makano for being my guide all through the rainy days. And of course to the hopefuls, y'all will share your own good news on this very thread.

Remain blessed!

Nerd95:

I don't think you should withdraw your application now. I applied on March 9th and got my PPR on October 20th. DejiiiiB, keep believing! Some few tips to stimulating a decision on your application (given that it has been long you applied):

1. Send emails to Abuja, Lagos, Nairobi, London, and Beijing offices. Sometimes, these offices push your email to Nairobi...Note, these offices would tell you that your files are in Nairobi but some may still send a reminder to Nairobi from their end. it happened to me when Nairobi replied to a mail I had sent to Beijing. Also, Abuja gave me a special link to a new webform site that has quick response and also gave a short and direct reply to one of my mails. They said "Nairobi would reach out to you once they've finalize your application". I got my PPR in 40days time. This may add weight to reminding Nairobi office.

2. You could use the subject of your mail as [URGENT] Request for Update on my Study Permit Application

or use

[URGENT] Request for Expediting the Processing of my Study Permit Application. If this, then request for urgent processing of your application because it is more than 8months and you don't have online options after January 2023.

3. In your mail, state that you do not have online options from January. Bolden this sentence in your mail, also bolden that it has been 8 months since you submitted your application. This makes their eyes go to the main points of your mail quickly.

4. Add that the delay is disrupting your academic and career plans. Be a little emotional e.g. state that it is affecting you mentally.

5. Schedule your mail to be sent 8am in the local time of the office. E.g. Nairobi is 2hrs ahead of us. So, schedule your mail to be sent 6am WAT. This could make it among the first mail that pops up as they resume work. Plus the [URGENT] in your mail subject could trigger them to read it. Only use [URGENT] keyword in the mail subject if it is really urgent, else it could be seen as false alarm and may not be good for you (I saw this in their website). Well, your case can be considered to be urgent.

6. Apply for GCMS notes. If you have, what does the Assessment section says? If you have and it hasn't been delivered for more than 45days, start sending the GCMS agent mails once every week. They would send IRCC reminder mail...I did this.

7. We can only do much, if you are a Christian, I recommend you fast and pray.

All the best, These tips are not absolute but I am confident you will receive a decision soon.
Pls display the special link to the new webforms here.
Thanks.

Hello my NL people

The gurus in the house please I will love to ask some questions and get the answers.

At the port is of entry in Canada will I need to tender my statement of Acc which I used for my application and my sponsor own? Because the money in my account is no more there again . Will that be a problem when getting there?

Can anyone put me through the kind of questions they ask when getting to the port of entry

Dear Gurus in the house.
Please i have a question. my sister got admission and about to apply for visa. She has two kids. both american citizen (by birth though all in Nigeria presently). The last born does not have a Nigerian passport yet but done and she was told it might take some time before she gets the babys Nigerian passport. She is press in time and want to apply ASAP .
Question is can she apply for the study permit with the united state passport for them or what other option is available. though i was also thinking since usa citizen can go into canada for 6mth without visa probably she can just do hers and when she gets to canada and also whe she has gotten their passport she can then apply for student permit for them in canada. Please any guidance will be appreciated.
Thanks

Pls are travellers still required to do covid test before departure ..are they still asking at the Nigerian airport?
kweje:

Dear Daffy, you no longer need ArriveCan. Just keep your LOA, proof of payment if any, proof of enrollment if any handy. If not registered for classes yet, they will ask who is sponsoring or MAY ask for SOA.
I know who people travelled recently without ArriveCan.

All the best.

What would you advise seeing as gcms takes over a month to respond and my UK school resumes in January?

Should I request the notes while I move on to the UK? If yes, do I have to mention it in my application and how?

Or I should not apply to the UK till I get the notes

johnstan:

Aii. I have seen someone here with SOP of one page, I think its the thread before this current thread and he was approved while someone with SOP of 5 pages with several hyperlinks init got rejected so the length isn't a determinant but the content.
I'm not certain the content of yours but if you are confident that it was not compelling then I'm sure you must be right about that.

Someone here too have gotten PPR without paying tuition deposits, if I remember, they explained that it was not compulsory by the school to do that, so not paying though a risky move is not a certain refusal determinant - they showed good POF tho.
Some days ago someone got PPR with a fixed deposit account as POF.

In the previous thread a 45yrs old individual got PPR at the second attempt so you can imagine the length of study gap there.

In all its your SOP that can make or break the application and you are certain you did not do a good job with it.

In the previous thread ( I'm mentioning this a lot cos that's where I joined and migrated to this current thread) someone had a long processing time like yours, orderd his gcms notes only to realise that he had been refused several months before his request for his notes so request for yours and be certain of the situation before you act (withdraw the application).

You are also right, you will need a dollar card to order the notes not a naira card.

Good luck

Lastly, I would recommend we have a kind of professional profile picture in our email account. I know some people would say it doesn't matter but we are humans, we have feelings and emotions. Picture your self as a front desk officer receiving complaints and enquiry mails from people. If a sender of a mail has a picture, it gives you a sense that you are communicating with a real person and not someone trying to spam or phish. Also, if the person's mail comes often, your mind would have a record of the person's picture and/or previous complaint. Again, these may have little or no effect in receiving a response, but sometimes little effect is important and even better than none.
