my younger brother that applied for electrical and electronic engineering in unijos,was given vietenary medicine and surgery today,his obviously not happy infact the guy is depress now, please how lucrative is vet medicine in nigeria,his 23 now and he doesn't want to write another jamb again

If he's not okay with the course, let him wait till next year or take up the course he was given, write jamb again and reapply for the course he wants if y'all can afford to gamble away the school fees.

I told a friend that veterinary medicine is one of the best courses in Nigeria that youths are yet to discover....


In civil service, you will be employed with G/L12 or there about. While human medicine starts with G/L9 or 10.

I had a Corner friend who was serving with us and met one Mallam who paid him 100k to look after his horses.


These guys are well paid and make more money than human medicine.

He can actually switch but that will depend on his seriousness with his studies. Let him focus and make the best of his 100L in Vet. Med acquiring a decent CGPA/GPA with that he can apply for a switch in his 200L to Elect. Engr the only thing is, he'll drop down one level.

While his mates are entering 200L he'll start from 100L in his new faculty.

Each school has their benchmark for this kind of switch in every Faculty/College. During my days a guy switched from Physics Engr to Management Science with reasons he couldn't cope, the benchmark for the switch was around 2.5 CGPA thereabout.

If and when he is ready, he's Level or Course Adviser or Student Adviser which ever one is being used in your case, will advice accordingly.

Who needs school in 2022. God! Who's raising these boys?!

1. He should go learn proper electronics with practicals with a reputable person in a workshop
2. He can also learn to code on the side.

He can determine what steps he wants to take with his future then.
In 2022 and at the age 23, getting depressed about not going to school. What failure!
Later they will say girls are making jest of them. You grandpa were in world war at that age!

He can accept that, do well in year one and apply to switch to medicine or pharmacy or even the engineering after year one, if he has a good grade
