Hello, my visa appointment scheduled for January 25th, 2022 and I had to defer my admission to fall 2023. Just yesterday I got an email from the consulate saying my appointment had been canceled. I don’t know what to do rn, I’m so devastated, do I pay for another visa appointment and schedule a date? Cause my resumption is soon.

Please reply me, thank you

Email the embassy and ask why ? You can always re validate your visa receipt , through their website, login check where they wrote feedback and re validate your receipt ,

I wish you good luck

That's not true bro. A lot of Nigerians based in the US are not US slaves like some Nigerians label them probably put of jealousy or hypocrisy. Many of the hypocrites will be first to jump on a plane if they're granted a US visa.

That some people come to Nigeria once in 7 years is their personal decision. What would you do if you keep hearing same bad news about Nigeria for 7 years? Run back to same Nigeria.

I'm based in the US and I know several folks that come to Nigeria 4 to 6 times a year cos they have businesses in the US and in Nigeria too that need their attention. How does that make them slaves? I was in Nigeria in February and will be there again for this Christmas.

So if you only know folks that refused to come home, ask them their reasons first before judging them.

Only if she can see an honest agent. Very rare !

Some times let's say what we know. I have been into visa processing job for the past 6years, I have taken clients to that same America embassy, at Garrison, or central area in Abuja, which most cases they were issued visas.
The issue with many Nigerians is that they find it difficult to pay for a good service, to get what they want, always looking for a short cut.
Yes there are fake people in the job, just like every other carrier out there.
I only deal with people who are % ready to travel, if you don't have your int'l passport don't contact.

hehe bro to be honest with you i never had these issues at all. i dont know too much about the visa hustle. but i can imagine it is tedious and very painful. my own experience i believe is very similar in terms of the hassles and stress so i can somewhat relate. so fortunately or unfortunately , however you choose to see it, i was born in the uk but when we came back to nigeria we never had a passport. they put us on my parents passport. but we had a birth certificate. fast forward to after spending 10 years in naija and i wanted to go back. well we had to go to the british embassy in lagos and it seemed like whatever they requested from us and we brought was never enough . it was appointments after appointments and documents after documents and months after months of stress and struggle and long queues till they finally decided to give me a british passport ( the black one back then not the red one ) . so in a way i can relate to the whole struggle.
Actually I mean on the whole japa syndrome and the desperation of the average Nigerian to go to obodo oyinbo land no matter what and no matter what they have accomplished here.

If Nigeria is so bad like this Nlanders that have never been on plane insist, why do Nigerians living in the US come here 5 to 6 times a year, why is it that the Delta and United flights to Nigeria from the US are always filled up on their daily flights to Nigeria if according to this people here on NL people are kidnapped as soon as they step out of the airport.

hehe oh that ? listen i am slowly starting to understand that people like to be lied to. they dont want you to dampen their dreams with reality and some will violently ( verbally of course ) take offense to any truths told about the hardships of the west. so i am slowly just starting to read and enjoy the banter without throwing in my two cents unless i am moved to. its just too many angry youths out here who have to be baptized in the fire before they see the truth. some people have to go through that baptism of fire and nothing you tell them would deter them till they go through that baptism of fire in the west. so these convos while i enjoy them i am slowly starting to sheath my sword unless its a day where i am just really bored and i need interaction lol.

I never heard that piece of people being kidnapped right outside the airport before, never read it on any news before.

On your comment about flights being filled up to Nigeria, have you wondered if if it's same for flights leaving Nigeria? Have you considered the reasons people travel to these different countries?
I once worked an IT Consultant for a firm in the US that require me to make 3 trips to CBN in Abuja for some presentations, which I did and returned to my base which is Atlanta, US after the events were concluded. The planes were filled just like they always are when ure traveling to other countries from a major hub like Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta, it doesn't mean everyone is relocating back to Nigeria, they may have their reasons for the visit.

CBN did send some of their delegates to the US too, we received them in Virginia and went for the presentation they came from. After the event, they returned to their jobs in Nigeria.

So, we can't say everyone leaving a country for good is based on the number of people on a flight. Some people travel for health reasons while some refused to return to Nigeria for same health reasons.

Just know Nigerians are the most well-traveled sets of people in the world and freely go anywhere if they want or have business interests there.

having said what i said above, some people need to be abroad and would waste away in nigeria. for example if you are so much of an egg head that i tell you to create a program , an app to connect all the government parastatals in lagos state and revenue collection etc etc and you can bang that out within a week ? yeah you probably dont need to be in nigeria wasting away. some people are just too skilled to be wasting away in an environment where their skills are not rewarded. and then you have the unskilled guy who just wants to be abroad because of 24 7 light who will go their to clean old decrepit white mans yansh to survive . i just could never wipe anybodys ass i dont care how much you pay me

Try and locate any MFM church. Though, it depends on where you reside. If Lagos State then you don't need any direction from anyone than just go to the address mention earlier. But be ready to fast for days without eating oooooo. May God answer your prayers

I am not an expert BUT I think your visa appointment should be close to your resumption date. The visa appointment can be cancelled for this reason but I think they should also refund you except there is a non-refundable policy. If it's non-refundable then you need to re-book your appointment for two or three months to your resumption date.
But he's claiming his resumption is soon. Too many contradictions in his post. If you can come out clearly to people, how do you get help?

The original post says "Hello, my visa appointment scheduled for January 25th, 2022 and I had to defer my admission to fall 2023. "
Fall 2023 session starts in September 2023. Applying for US Visa in January for a session that starts in September is too early, I may be wrong though.

Hello everyone, I actually made a typographical error, my visa appointment ( F1) was meant to be on January 25th,2023 but school resumes early January (spring semester), mind you I had to defer my admission to spring as I couldn’t get a visa appointment before august 2022..
