My first attempt at making moimoi, so I bought one of those packaged, ready-to-go, "just add water" bullshit.

So I added water.

The result?

These grisly, unappealing, tasteless mounds of culinary terror garnished with buyer's remorse.

Every sensory organ in my body is offended.

My tastebuds have resigned in protest, the lingering aftertaste of this inedible blasphemy has left my tongue barren, and it'll take a while to rehabilitate my systems.

I've learned the painful lesson that there are no shortcuts to success.

Never buy prepacked shiit.
Lol. So you saw just add water, and you just added water without seasonings? Lol. Bon Appetit.

You didn't read the part where it says "ready to go"

It's already got all the seasoning.

Sunday dinner:

Pounded yam with Egusi Ijebu.
Looks good.

Did you fry the egusi a a bit before blending? Egusi Ijebu generally looks like omi obe coz it's fried a bit. It's smoother.

I couldn't get the seed where I am so I just took the grounded one I have and blended it again with the bell peppers I used. I am guessing you asked because it wasn't smooth all through, right? I used what was available in my locality.

Would have made mine thick though. The omi obe thing isn't something I appreciate except if I am making a soup to drink.

The thick version will be good for Pounded yam and semo, the less thicker version will be good for amala when you mix with ewedu or okro.

You now do that abula style, make a hole in the amala widen it and put the egusi and ewedu inside plus the fishes. Haa it's heavenly.

Have you tried making egusi Ijebu with some peppersoup spices Chai it's on another level.

Don't mind me I am a foodie.

Yam and sweet potato porridge garnished with stewed beef, malabar spinach and sweet basil leaves.

This was super delicious. I also added some dried catfish flakes.

Happy Sunday
I'm loving this bowl.

Dunno if the packaged one will have the same effect as the fresh spices though but you can try it.

I can see you are a real exotic foodie. grin

A jaw-dropping, finger lickin' imagery... "C'mon baby, let's do the twist..." *Singing and twisting like Chubby Checker*

So, what made you decide to go for that food with the fish in it, and the name of the food? Did you make the meal yourself while out camping in the woods? I can't figure out what kind of fish was used in the food though.

I watched a TikTok video and respondents ( who are mostly international students originally from African countries ) were asked what they find weird about Americans….. One of the respondents said he finds it weird that Americans put cheese in almost everything cheesy

That very moment I remember how u usually top ur food with grated cheese at times .

Cheese is fun on food. It adds to the depth of flavors.

I inky enjoy it on pizza. A time ordered a shawarma that had cheese in it, I didn't really get the flavor I desired.

Sorry about that. Perhaps, not the right cheese was added.
