It is not...except shitcoins with no utilities or usefulness, pump and dump, rinse and repeat.

The following are the benefits of crypto:

1) I use it to collect funds from customers.

2) I also exchange my business fiat profits with it and sell and receive in naira. All in minutes.

3) The Nigerian government banned some money remit companies like Wise (formerly Transferwise). So, sending your dollars here na problem. If dem no use cutlass slice am anyhow, be thankful.

4) Even recently, I heard some banks reject dollars from Payoneer to dom accounts (affecting solopreneurs and freelancers). With crypto, you can get your funds to your Naira bank account at the black market-value rate or store them in USD (if you are into stablecoin)

5) Use them to pay for foreign products online now that banks have limited foreign transactions from $20 to nothing, all within minutes rather than filling out forms that will take months.


On and on...this is why I like crypto...PayPal wahala reduced...I'm sure you know how disadvantaged we are from this part of the world. It's a leveled-playing field, bro. As for the Ponzis, some coins may be...that is why the term shitcoins was created. You must know:

- Why were they created in the first place?
- What use is it?
- Does it solve a problem in the industry, or is it just another quick-to-profit scheme?
- Who are the creators, and what are the assets behind the coin, etc?
