Good morning Mr Justwise and Mr DisGuy. I just saw that the two of you are the director of this particular section on nairaland. I love this section so much. Kudos to you.

The reason I reach out to you is because there's no thread for Nigerian community living in the US on nairaland. But if there is such thread, direct me to it, and this one can be taken down. I wish this could serve as one and in years to come, we will look back and see what we've achieved here by the grace of God.

Find an African store around you or ask anyone you know to help you buy from an African store around them. The person will post it to you while you zelle them the cost of the food and postage.
You could also travel to neighboring cities that have African stores to get what you need.

At the worst, order online.

I don't do online buying; I go in store to get the things I need. The reason I said the worst is to buy online.

Hello everyone

Good to be here. Please let's keep this thread alive.

I will be arriving the US in a couple of months. I will be working in the dayton area, Ohio. Anybody in Ohio I can connect with? I want to ask things around getting an apartment, getting schools and daycare for my kids, getting a car and furniture, Nigerian churches around, African stores around. Just hacks around those things too. Things to look out for, resources available that I should take opportunity of. I am open to suggestions from people outside Ohio too. Thanks everyone.
