Every Nigerian with an S genotype has to make sure that he or she gets someone with an AA or AS genotype and be careful as not to have an SS baby.. We don't know such life here in SA, why? because we're not carriers of that disease.

1. With HIV, one has to sleep around first without protection in order to get it or mistakingly touch an HIV infected person's blood or fluid., but with sickle cell, you don't have to sleep around, as long as you're born with an S genotype, you're a carrier.

2. A person with HIV can live up to old age, but most people with sickle cell in Nigeria either die while they're still young, in their teens, or as young adults.

3. A person with HIV can still have children who don't have the virus, but we can't say the same thing with sickle cell in your country, if someone with sickle cell has kids, either they'll be born with it, or they'll be born as carriers of it.

4. Statistics have shown that those South Africans with the sickle cell disease have either West African or central African ancestry, either the person's mother or father is from West or central Africa, meaning you guys go around spreading it by scattering babies both in SA and other countries. A can't say the same with with South Africans and HIV.

5. At least we have statistics that keep a record of the number of HIV cases in the country and people are encouraged to open up and advice others about it, you guys don't keep any records of HIV cases in your country because you're still ashamed of it and keeping it a secret.

6. Ever since I was born, I've never heard of my fellow South African suffering from a sickle cell disease, or unable to marry the love of his or her life because of it.

I was also going to ask why you guys are sickle cell carriers, but I don't really care because it doesn't concern me... And you need to stop bringing your disease here in SA because already we have HIV.

And lastly, you need to calm down because trying to body shame us isn't going to help you with anything, but it'll only increase your blood pressure.
