I just like the christian on Nairaland to help me throw more light to this,
I once had my tithe with me when someone walked up to me for an assistance to discharge her family from hospital. After confirming that it's true, I just dropped my entire tithe to pay the bill and believe I had paid my tithe but somehow I was told that since I didn't drop it in the church am yet to pay my tithe.

Be guided by the Holy Spirit always. Learn to hear from God in the Spirit. It's the most important thing when taking decisions. Listening to people's personal opinions can derail you. Remember that it's God's purpose for your life that must be fulfilled.

{Mal 1,2,3,4} is focused upon Aaron and the levite priesthood, they failed to obey the Covenant, Laws and Commandments, to serve the living God..
Other then {Mal 3:10} there's no other scripture found in the bible, that actually say's we are blessed through tithing.
But what it does say? "God always tells us to give to the Poor, He say's in {Proverbs 22:16} He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches, And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.
So if I was to give to a rich pastor, church etc,, then obviously I will always be living in Poverty.
{Proverbs 19:16-17} "He who keeps a commandment preserves his soul, but he who is careless in his ways will die. Kindness to the poor is a loan to the LORD, and He will repay the lender.
{Matthew 6:33} "God teaches us- First seek the Kingdom and His righteousness and all things shall be added to you.
Meaning God expects us to seek the Word of God and do what is written in it. it's our studying, God seek's from us.
.{Joshua 1:8}This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth.
{Psalm 118:8} "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
And by the look's on your page: you would rather trust in Man before you would trust in God..

So you want to separate the New Testament from the Old because of issue of tithe??
Yet you want to claim every beautiful promises of God especially Abrahamic blessings from the old.

Stop misleading people,we have so many fake Churches actually but in a good Church settings,a true Pastor doesn't even handle any tithe.
Tithe should be paid to the Church you attend then set aside an "help fund" for the less privilege.

Then have it in mind,God doesn't force you to pay.

Any Pastor who does that is not sure of what God called him into.

I have been paying since 22yrs ago and the results are quite outstanding.

You assume the 10 percent is even enough to help in all cases. I'm talking of someone needing drugs urgently, you will rather choose they suffer? Urgent cases require desperate measures. Wisdom is profitable to direct. God is not a slave master

All your references didn't add up to issue about tithing.
Your problem is the generalization of Pastors embezzling tithe.
Your exposure if true could have stopped such.

Other then {Mal 3,10} there's no other blessing's found in scriptures leading to tithing, I have given you scriptures What tithing was designed for, the Widow's the fatherless, and the strangers.
I have also given you scriptures about giving to the poor, how God' tells us to give.
While in the meantime 'you have failed to come up with any bible verses to back up your theories..

{Proverbs 21:13| "Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor, will himself call out and not be answered.
The Churches are full of people who are misled by lying pastor's living their best life now-while the poor Church people still living in Poverty, asking God in prayer, and God is not hearing them.
If the Widow's the fatherless and the strangers-read their bible's, they will learn the truth, and if they gave to the needy instead of giving it "all" to the rich; "God will hear their cry-and blessing's will overflow abundantly into their lives, just as God had promised them..

Tithing is Not biblical. Gentiles were not allowed to leave any gift's at the temple grounds. Not then, Not now, the Mosaic Law. was a sign God given to His Jewish people to obey His Covenant, His Laws, and His Commandments, to serve.
You shall not temp the Lord your God for Him only you shall serve..
