Back in the 1990's , when NTA had some decent foreign imports...one of them was this highlights programme showing matches from around South American leagues, Brazil and Argentina included.

I liked the Argentina segments, because we finally got to know some of the decent Argentine clubs like River Plate, Boca Juniors, Argentinos Juniors, Rosario, Independente, Newell's , Velez Sarsfield, Banfield, and Arsenal (yes, Arsenal, an argentine Arsenal...named after The Arsenal)

And Argentina scores 3--0

Back to memory lane.

Used to like the time Boca and River Plate came on air...and one of the players for Boca was a certain Mac Allister. Decent player, never really got to play much for Argentina (would have been in the 1994 world cup squad, but to cut a long story short, the coach did not see him fitting his vision...). This Mac Allister had 3 sons...the youngest of whom plays with Messi right now....in the Albiceleste....


Kind of sad we can't watch live South American football these days. (We dey miss a lot really).
