A society makes or mars her citizens and by extension reaps the benefits or suffers the consequences of her actions or inactions therefrom.

This is the story of Nigeria.

We have a longggg way to go as a society.

We are still operating on the Hunter-Gatherer stages of civilization from every available index and data.

It is well.

Actually, it's not well

The next president of Nigeria, through the CBN, will reverse this nonsense redesign. There's no doubt about that. smiley

What do you expect a mechanic whose hands are being spoiled with grease to do when he's been paid by a car owner?
U expects him to go wash hand first before receiving his money,Or Rather he should go and wear a hand glove so as not to deface the newly recolored sorry redesigned naira ?

A non illiterate mechanic would wear gloves while working and take off the dirty gloves before handling the naira notes.

As much as this act is highly frowned at, The government should enlighten the masses on how to recognize counterfeit notes as these squeezings might actually be as a result of the myth of testing the authenticity.

People involve in such act should be locked up, because they don't even have single respect for the name Nigeria

How about Nigerians who vote for their president based on tribe, are they not more dangerous to Nigeria than someone who simply rumpled their own naira.

The value is not measured by how they are being squeezed.

That's not the point.

In case you missed it, the point is for us to have clean bills.

I know a White guy who doesn't collect change after he bought anything, he will keep buying things till he spends because the Naira is usually dirty and could cause health hazard.

Some Nigerians are just dirty and destructive. Give some traders a crisp note from your wallet and it is immediately squeezed into dirty palms. It makes me cringe abeg. undecided

That was how Nigerians treated the old Naira notes. The new one will face no different.

The currency is ugly. Kai, this is a thousand steps backward.

I saw it at the bank today and it is ugly. Looks like a FAKE note that you forget in your pocket then wash the cloth.

That is why they are squeezing it to see if it's real.

I have never seen a rough dollar note why?? undecided

Maybe we use inferior materials for our notes or smtn.

Talking about what is right...was it right to deface our beautiful naira note all in the name of 'reprinting and redesigning'.
Is there any redesigning on it? For a whooping over 24biliion...was it right??

Talking of respect for the name Nigeria...is dt d name God gave us or name we have our self or name given to us by Lord Luggard's LovePeddler?

We have to choose another name for our country if we want things to change for better

How does squeezing make any difference? How does it also account for squeezing the old Naira notes as recent as last week?

They should make it a crime to give or receive rumpled notes, and rumpled notes would cease to exist.

The issue is not the design or citizens respecting the naira note. People respect what have a value and not forcing policy on citizens.
If our naira is as valuable as kwd, nobody will try that even a conductor or mechanic

The government should enforce the use of wallets in markets. At the very least traders should fold the notes neatly when received.
