Hi, have you been able to pay for your sevis with this suggested method(pay4Me)?. I want use it as well. If so, please how long did it take for them to confirm payment.
I actually registered to see if I can use it. I am still awaiting my admission letter. What I discover is that a dollar is 750 naira on the platform.
I am trying to see if I can pay through bank like GTB it will be more pocket friendly 450 naira to a dollar. My opinion. I am yet to try it.

Broh, how possible through GTB? I operate with GTB but I have just 50$ limit monthly. Do you know any other method to go beyond that limit?? Pay4me rate is crazy as Bleep!! 750 Naira to a dollar, excluding service fees ooo .. hhhmmmm

Bros we are in this together. I have not reached that stage, I am only making necessary findings ahead of the time. If it's what next on your to do list now, kindly visit GTB, probably there will be form for us to fill, I think form A or something and they will deduct naira equivalent from your account.

That's my submission, I know Gurus here will contribute to this too. @Justwise

Thank you Justwise. I have been wondering if there is no way to caution this guy. Simply because you are in the US does not authorize you to insult people. He want to be harsh like Twoods but he forgot that Twoods doesn't insult. You need to respect people no matter the kind of help or information you are giving them.

What's your discipline? You'll have to do the research yourself. Your research should be based on matching your profile with suitable schools that match your profile.

Also, to increase your chances of funding you might need to write the GRE and TOEFL/IELTS.

Please help
Noraht:
Guys please while trying to schedule an appointment, i omitted my middle name because they only have options for first and last names.. i went back to the page only to find out the middle name is needed as well.. please how do i edit it or would it be a problem if i leave it that way? (Note: my ds-160 has my correct names, only the visa appointment schedule page has only only the first and last name)
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Noraht: 4:56pm On Dec 24, 2022
Guys please help.. while creating a profile so i can schedule my interview (on this website ustravelsdoc....), i was only shown an option for first and last name, i filled just both names leaving out my middle name because it wasn't asked for.. then after scheduling my appointment and everything, i went back to the profile only to see a note which wasn't there initially, saying i should write both first and middle name as it's written on my passport (and it should be written in the space provided for first name).. what should i do.. now my appointment letter has just my first and last name, i mean I applied for EA, but how do i correct this, there is no option to update names

I don't know why you are too bothered with this middle name stuff. In most applications, middle name is useless so far your first, and last name tallies with what you have in your passport (the arrangement and spellings are free from errors).

You should focus on important thing which is preparing on how to excel in your interview once your EA was granted.

NB: Just my little contribution.

Please did anybody here apply to the University of Alabama for Fall 2023, I submitted an application for Ph.D. at the University of Alabama for Fall 2023 entry in October 2022. All documents required for admission processing were submitted by the end of October 2022, yet my application status is still displaying "Awaiting grad school evaluation". I put a call to the graduate school office in November 2022, and I was told by the graduate school staff that they received a very high volume of applications due to the free grad application week they had, but that they are processing them one by one.

My question is, is it possible that my application is still at the graduate school and has not been sent to my department even after two months?

I am waiting for the holidays to be over to fire them emails because I know US schools are currently on holiday and will be re-opening on January 3, 2023.

I have been reading the thread. From page1 and kudos to all the guys contributing. Please i have series of questions.

1) first and foremost, are all of you on the thread from a rich home. Cus after my findings, usa tuition no be beans o. Jesus. I'm planning to go for my phd because currently i'm almost done with my msc. And i learnt average tution for phd in usa is 28k usd per year, and phd is like three years and above, where will i see money from?

2) additionally, i heard f2 cant work, is this true? If so, is there a way to circumvent it? I also heard f1 cant work, is this also true, if so, is there a way to circumvent it?

3) furthermore, is it best to apply with my civil partner, or i should first go, and she applies after i am already there?

4) going forward, from people's transcript on the thread, most of the enlightened ones here says the f2 should tell vo that they are only going to be with the f1 for few months and they will return back, what if the vo gives the f2 a 4months visa, and the 4 months is due, will the f2 be sent packing back to where she was coming from or how can the f2 find a way to still remain with f1?

5) Also, after f1's education tenure is over, what can f1 do to still remain in the US?

6) pre-ultimately, is it possible for me to pause my schooling and just be working or is it possible to dump the schooling with no harsh clap back from visa team.

7) lastly, are doctorate degree cheaper than phd in usa

Thank you all as you answer my questions.

Not at all. For biomedical PhDs, you can look for fellowships, teaching or graduate assistantships to cover your tuition + stipend.

eniola1010:

2) additionally, i heard f2 cant work, is this true? If so, is there a way to circumvent it? I also heard f1 cant work, is this also true, if so, is there a way to circumvent it?

Yes F2 visa holders are not allowed to work and there is no way to circumvent this. F1 holders can work in limited circumstances… and for no more than 20 hours per week. If you’re on a fellowship for example, you are not allowed to work. It’s worth asking, is a phd a path to study for you or a path to come and work?

eniola1010:

3) furthermore, is it best to apply with my civil partner, or i should first go, and she applies after i am already there?

Your civil partner will have to get her own visa on her own merit.

eniola1010:

4) going forward, from people's transcript on the thread, most of the enlightened ones here says the f2 should tell vo that they are only going to be with the f1 for few months and they will return back, what if the vo gives the f2 a 4months visa, and the 4 months is due, will the f2 be sent packing back to where she was coming from or how can the f2 find a way to still remain with f1?

The F2 visa is a temporary visa, it is not intended for permanent stay in the US.

eniola1010:

5) Also, after f1's education tenure is over, what can f1 do to still remain in the US?

Get a job and extend your stay through an OPT or h1b work visa.

eniola1010:

6) pre-ultimately, is it possible for me to pause my schooling and just be working or is it possible to dump the schooling with no harsh clap back from visa team.

No. You are required to maintain full time status until you graduate. The consequence is the school will terminate your F1 status and report you to immigration authorities. Feel free to take the chance though.

eniola1010:

7) lastly, are doctorate degree cheaper than phd in usa

A phd is a doctorate degree.

Honestly, i really appreciate your time in answering my questions.

But i hope you're not keeping some secrets from me maybe because you may feel this is an open space and there's a limit to what you can say.

I'm really paticular about the f2 for my civil partner. If you say its a temp visa of course i do know it is. But so many applicants here do it for their wife, are you telling me all of them go thru the stress of doing it for their wife even after knowing the wife will just be there for a short time and she wont work, or is there a secret nigerians are using over there whereby the wife can stay longer and do some under the radar job.

You can always do whatever you want, but there are always going to be consequences. You should remember these “under the radar” issues will crop up when it’s time to apply for permanent status. This isn’t Nigeria… It sickens me to read people openly seeking for ways to break the law and expecting to get away with it.
