Greetings all.

I have an enquiry.

I stay on the boundary between Lagos and Ogun state. My utility bill carries my house address as Lagos; in my marriage certificate also carries my address as lagos. But I printed my bank statement, it carries my house address as Ogun state.

Does it really matter?
How do I handle this.

Thanks

Thanks for your detailed analysis.

Circumstances changed will be

1. submitting my personal savings account statement, which I did not submit when I applied. To demonstrate my financial circumstances in Nigeria.

2. Not mentioning visiting my sister in my application, even if I state I have a family member in the UK. Cos I actually booked for a hotel to lodge.

3. Details of my day to day itinerary as you rightly stated.

As stated by the ECO each application is considered on its individual merit.

Will also want to know why the ECO mentioned my bank balance was 9 months of my income.?

Thank you for your anticipated reply.

@Giselle has given you the best advice.
@ bolded doesn't matter now if you mentioned it because they already have that information from your first application.
You declared an investment without providing a legal document to back it up. That was a lump sum that had a significant impact on your account statement. I guess that's why the ECO stated that you have 9 times the amount of your salary. Next time, carefully analyze your account statement and give a proper breakdown of how the money was accrued. Ensure you have the documents to back up such claims.

Your saving account statement doesn't matter at this stage because you have sufficient money to finance the trip but work on your home ties. Don't throw money at the ECO face they don't care about it. The reason why you want to travel in this era of japa wave should be convincing esp. as a virgin passport holder.
Provide sufficient documents.

He divided your closing balance by your monthly Salary. It shows you have unexplained opening balance and/or unexplained additional income into same bank statement which you are receiving monthly salary.

if you earn 300k , you also will have money you spend every month. .. so your disposable income is not 300k… so if you are spending money how is your end statement still more than 9 times your amount as if you are not spending daily or monthly.
You knew this could be a problem that is why you mentioned a supposed investment so as to boost your circumstances… and shot yourself in the foot.
The above you have mentioned are not changes in your circumstances sir.
To mention a few, Changes include better salary, travel history, assets, marriage, children, verifiable property etc

Thanks senior Giselle, I will draw a budget on my cover letter. Just that I’m curious if 900k would be ok for 5 days vacation? because I don’t want to spend more than my 2 month disposable income.

As per tie or what will make me return back home? I’m married with 4 kids, have a land property and good paying job as my tie.

Can I add these as additions docs if necessary
Tenancy Rent Agreement
Recent electricity bill payment recipient I paid
Kids school fees receipts

Where I’m filling my visa application there’s a place asked other income or saving?

Can I write my bank account balance as my saving?

Thanks happy new year

giselle237:
check Oanda rate for the conversion ECOs use for pounds and draw up a budget. Shopping etc are not compulsory. Remember also it is not about the sum itself, the ECOs try to do a wholistic approach on a balance of probabilities that something will make you return to Nigeria. If they are convinced you get the visa, if not convinced no visa.
Some persons earn lesser but still get visas.. it’s the total look.

There is no manual for @ bolded. You should understand that it all depends on your itinerary.
There are many factors to be considered, but I suggest not spending more than half of your account balance.
You should be concerned about working on your ties to Nigeria. People have gotten their visas approved using all available sums in their bank account for a trip.
Work on your home tie with sufficient evidence. That's the ECO's pressing concern.

Happy New Year!

P.S: This is just my conviction

about budget.. no hard and fast rule. 2 to 3 times is okay… add anything to prove your case.. if you say 5 days that means 3 days tourism… hmmm
Cause day 1 will be arrival and day 5 departure.. pls think like a tourist and research like one. Good luck

Someone please help. I chose assisted service for the uploading of my documents. Will I need charged separately for the scanning when I get there?
While I added the assisted service, I noticed it was repeated twice in the breakdown in my cart which doubled the amount. No matter how I tried to remove and add it back, it came back the same way so I had to pay. Do I ask for a refund for one?

Lastly I need to submit company's statement of account and it is over 125 pages. How do I go about it?

u didn’t have to pay.
TLS are always dodgy with refunds. Pls sit on their head when you get there and you don’t need to upload anything if you have paid. Carry all your documents in a4 to them.

You have a salary account; a savings account is different and should come from a declared source like your salary account.
Some people divide their accounts into expenditures and savings. This savings account is what they use to fund their vacations/emergencies.
Don't declare it if you can't provide a statement for it; if you know, the transactions there can't be explained.

Just add sufficient documentation to back up your claim and tie you back to Nigeria. I can't advise you here because I don't know your full story on your LOE.
You need to convince the ECO you won't be seeking asylum/overstay your visa.
If you submit just one SOA, ensure the amount you declare as saving should be consistent. You can use that to explain the opening balance.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Oluwaloniglory7: 9:54pm On Jan 02, 2023
Thanks boss infosoftlife I really appreciate your contributions and your time.

Well I use only single account which is my salary account, and if I really understand what you are saying that if I’m using only my salary account to apply I should not declare my closing balance as my SAVING right?

My salary account opening balance and closing balance is a SAVING from my SALARY, because I use the account for my expenditures and savings.

Can I write the figure on my salary account closing balance as my SAVING where they asked do you have OTHER INCOME OR SAVING?

Please i have 2 more questions. Thank you for your assistance.

1. I also have 2 cooperative savings that is deducted straight from my company, the remainder is what lands in my account. The deduction of these 2 savings is always on our payslip, do I declare Both as savings as well or just voice over it in my explanation. Note, I'm not making use of these, only reason why I'm thinking of mentioning is because it adds up to my monthly salary after tax. So I'm thinking of pointing it out so the ECO won't say what I quoted and what's entering my account is not adding up.

2. My monthly takehome varies based on allowances paid in different months e.g take home in Nov includes 13th month, takehome in some months include bonuses and other performance incentives. I'm thinking of the best way to answer the "how much do you earn monthly after tax"? Do I write the highest, the lowest or the average over the 6 months payslip I'm submitting and then explain?

@giselle237 @infosoftlife please help

Take the mode (the most frequent salary).
Attach your payslip. You can explain the discrepancies in your monthly salary to the ECO on your LOE.
You can declare the savings only if you are submitting the SOA. Also, if you know, it would raise any query i.e, you can prove the origin of such money accrued.

The most important thing is that you need to make sure that you have enough funds to cover your travel to the UK and that you have attachments back home for which you’d definitely come back, be it a job, investment here in Nigeria, or family.
