Unfortunately in JW, they are not taught to test what they are taught to see if what they are taught is True. They are taught to listen to Watchtower, accept and obey anything they are told whether what they are taught makes sense or not from a Human standpoint. Watchtower requires Blind obedience. JWs are told all the time that Jesus and Jehovah trust the Governing body. Therefore, they should trust the Governing body too. You can see that they are told something completely opposite from what the Bible says.

As a typical Cult, Watchtower never tolerates Questioning. It is forbidden to question their leaders or correct them. But the Bible says you must question. Questioning is part of the the testing process the Bible demands. But in JW, once you start to question the leadership or try to correct a wrong doctrine or opinion, you will be marked. The Elders will be ordered from above to watch you like CIA Agents. You will be branded an Apostate. If you saw something from the Bible that contradicts the doctrines of Watchtower and you went ahead to write a letter to the Headquarters of Watchtower in order to correct them, you will be disfellowshipped. How do I know? It has happened to a JW, Carl Olof Jonsson (I have forgotten his position he held in Watchtower, someone who knows should remind me) Who was trying to correct the doctrine of when Jerusalem was destroyed. He even wrote a book titled Gentile Times Reconsidered explaining the correct date by using the Bible and Archaeological evidence together. Every archaeological evidence points to 586/587 bce. Archaeological evidence that was preserved since the time of King Nebuchadnezzar. A former Governing body member actually did his research, going to libraries and examined archaeological evidence but found no supporting evidence for 607 bce but instead found 586/587 bce. Ordinary Google also confirms the archaeological evidence. Only Watchtower teaches that Jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce. Just because someone did thorough research and saw the fraud in the doctrine and wanted to correct them, they decided to get rid of him. Why? Because it is forbidden to correct them and because the correction will expose the fact that Jesus never selected them in 1919. It will also expose the fact that 1914 is wrong and made up and that their authority over them is a fraud. Watchtower doesn't want JWs to know about this. They will see the fraud. Their imaginary calculations from 607 bce leads to 1914 which was supposed to be the time the world would end but the world didn't end on that date, they eventually changed it to when Jesus came. After reading what Courz wrote, I now have a clearer view-how it must be difficult for you, to not be allowed to question any elder about any bible verse that concerns your faith in the Watchtower.
Our faith is much different to yours-we don't need to go to our elders, Pastors whatever, everything concerning our faith, when we want answers we open up our bibles, it is God's Word isn't it.
We don't need to ask for assistance, it's already written down-all the Lord expects us to do is mediate on His Word Day and Night.
