Hello great people.

Please can mutual funds statement be used to apply for a visit visa to the UK?

Because of low interest in banks, my major money has been in mutual funds for about 1 year now and I need to apply for visit visa in February. Do I withdraw the mutual funds and credit it into my bank account?

I save in mutual funds and use my statement for visa application. It is okay to use it. You can mention it in the section for additional information.

Good morning everyone in the house!!!!!

Please where they asked Purpose of my visit to Uk? Can I write for a deserved Easter holiday and to explore popular tourist site such as London bridge, London eye, Buckingham palace, Big Ben etc
Yes , you can. Just ensure the tourist sites are close to your accomodation. You can't say you will visit London Eye if you intend to stay in Manchester (for example). Just be realistic.

If my hotel reservation says 7 night does that mean I’m staying for 7 days ? Also is it necessary to put departure date i.e departure from Lagos Nigeria to Heathrow on my itinerary?

7 nights - not days. You don't need to include departure date.

Hi gurus and everyone ,

My husband want to apply for Uk visit visa , he’s been refused once in 2012 and has since not applied for visa . I studied in the uk and have visited a couple of times with the children. My children and I have a valid UK visit visa .

We’re planning to travel together for the first time as a family in August and I will be co-sponsoring the trip . My bank statement has more funds than my husband’s account . I hope this won’t affect his visa application.
If asked is anyone else paying for the trip what should he state and why . He will also be paying but we want to be careful the stated amount isn’t more than 4 times is salary .

If I’m co-sponsoring what documents will I need to attach to support his application?

My advise: If your husband has enough money in his account, let him sponsor himself. You can sponsor yourself and your children. This will reduce the burden of sponsorship for your husband and make it easier for him to sponsor himself. Co-sponsoring an adult can be very dicey - unless the adult is your child or parent. It's doable but I generally advise people not to do it.

The reason why you sponsoring this trip should be very convincing especially at this time. Best you taking him out for a birthday treat.

If you want to use birthday treat as a reason, then it should be full sponsorship. Can you afford to sponsor the whole family? If you can, then go ahead and say it is a birthday treat or wedding anniversay treat..

Wow djbaju you really mess up big time maybe you have not discovered this great forum before you put in? You declared that you spending 100k monthly I carefully go through your bank statements and do my calculations each months

July: you spend 40k apart from 917,934 enter and debited immediately
Aug: you spend 48,410
Sep: you spend 49,944
Oct: you spend 51,000
Nov: you spend 56,260
Dec: you spend 50,00

All your monthly expenses are not up to 60k, while you declared you are spending 100k.

You don’t need to rush to re-apply without correcting all these errors, you will need to rebuild you account for next 6 months.

Note: You salary usually entered your account every on the first, the one that came in July is for salary of month of June. You should have waited till January to receive the month of December salary before you apply then.

Sorry bro, better you clear all discrepancies in your bank account before you re-apply after 6 to 7 month.

Shalom

Pls what if you declare your monthly spend as 150k monthly and you spend way more because of some impromptu expenditures. does the ECO check every debit transaction.

You got your visa in 4 days? That’s was really fast and congratulations on that.

Was it priority you did ?

Try paid mail/call for your defendants

I made a paid call this morning.

They said I can't escalate till 10 working days, that it takes 10 working days for collection mail to drop after decision is made.

You’re right that sponsoring an adult can pose a problem, but that shouldn’t be the case when a man is sponsoring his wife or a woman is sponsoring her husband because they are a couple. I do this all the time.

Thanks for the contributions so far, amount declared as spending is 100k, I will attach a copy of the bank statement, first, the Eco claimed I had only 5 salary credits if you count you will see 6, i ticked the salaries with pink, secondly, he said there was a deposit on 02/06/2022, whereas I didn't submit a statement for the month of June, maybe he asked from the bank, even if he did I don't have a deposit on that day mentioned. I think he was complaining about my opening balance i don't think that should be his problem if I had 500k I might decide to save some of my salaries and also decide to spend some and save 500k like it was.

The only error I can find on the account is on the 14th of July someone credited and debited my account within 2 mins I believe it was a transaction done by mistake by the bank and I address it on my cover letter.

Now if you look at the credits there is no other credit aside from interest from the bank and the above-mentioned.

There is a lot of problem with your account statement and declaration. Your opening balance is not consistent with what you have declared as your monthly spend. Your opening balance means the total money you have in your account as of the time of the statement. So it means from January to July you only saved up 501k meanwhile you say you spend only 100k monthly. If that is the case, your opening balance should be 350k multiplied by 6 months which is 2.1m minus interest. So, if you have 501k it means for the first 6 months of the year, you spent over 100k per month.

Now let's go to your monthly spend for the 6 months in review. You spent less than 100k per month. This makes it obvious that you kind of worked on your account to reflect what it is reflecting. How did your monthly spend suddenly drop so low compared to earlier in the year where you either completely exhausted your salary each month or spent more than 300k.

Now to your salary. Yes your statement of account only shows 5 months salary taking into consideration that your salary comes in on the 1st of each month. So, the salary paid on the 1st of July is salary for June, that of Aug is for July and so on. Except you are saying your employer pays you each month even before you do the work. Lol. Your sixth month salary would have been on the 1st of January.

These are the issues.

If you can get there by 12:30 that's fine. You can drive if you want to. They have parking space in the premises. You might be charged 2k to use it. That is what I was charged.

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by AskGod07: 3:13pm On Jan 09, 2023
I disagreed with your analysis about Opening balance lilyflow, because many people are gotten their visa with low opening balance. As at the time you haven’t apply for a visa you can spend your savings for house projects, solving family problem. At times this so called ECO do complained about large amount as Opening balance.

But when you are ready to apply for a visa you can use substantial amount as a opening balance, and build your 6 month statement account to correlate with your monthly salary and your monthly expenses.

Note: If Eco notices some discrepancies in your bank account that is when they will start defining different things in your bank account.
